People I remember meeting on holiday Readers tell us about memorable people they’ve met on holiday. A Jon
A couple of years ago I went on holiday to a coastal town in Italy with my parents. We stayed at a great little hotel and there was an amazing band that played every evening. I started chatting to the lead guitarist, a tall, pretty girl with long dark hair who was very talented indeed. She was Russian, but she had spent three years studying in England, so we communicated easily in English. We had a lot of interests in common and we found that we both loved old Abba songs! We got on really well and exchanged email addresses. We’ve kept in touch ever since. B Diana
Someone I remember meeting on holiday was a girl called Rita from Canada. I was camping in France with some mates and she was there with some friends too. We all hung out together for a week or so, doing sports and going to see different sights. My mates thought Rita was a bit moody, but that was because she’d just split up with a boyfriend back home. She had a very sensitive nature and we did a lot of talking about relationships and family problems. She was a bit of a poet and I’ll never forget the poems she let me read. They were beautiful. C Terry
After a holiday in Paris my life took a completely new direction – that’s how influential my ‘memorable person’ was! I’d been thinking about studying literature or languages at university, but after a visit to the Musée D’Orsay I decided to study history of art. It was all down to t his incredible guide we had called Adriane. She was very knowledgeable and obviously loved her subject. Her enthusiasm was infectious. After our tour I asked her loads of questions and she gave me a lot of good advice. I’m so glad we went to that museum.
