YATRA RESTAURANT Client : Private Client The design of this 30 seater Indian themed restaurant involved transforming a ex-workshop into an intimate setting for this boutique restaurant. A neutral palette has been been utilized for the color scheme to focus the attention on the ornate lighting fixtures u antique inspired furniture which provide the drama and mood within the space. THE COURTYARD HOUSE Client : Private Client This 4 bedroom double storey home was to be a holiday home for a Kiwi-Indian family. The concept for this house draws on this east-west cultural collision in the generation the design. This international standard home incorporates traditional elements of the courtyard as the heart of of the home for providing natural light, air & social interaction. The ‘jali’ screens of ancient palaces have been referred to in the design & detailing of the ventilation/security screens to create an ornateness to this simple reinforced concrete column & beam structure. Working in collaboration with the design & development manager and the management team of Prime hotels to upgrade existing backpacker accommodation into a three star hotel. Scope of works: Onsite measurement / survey of existing building Space planning and layout. Assistance with materials, finishes and fixtures selection. CAD documentation using AUTOCAD for submission to Wellington city council.

AL BADIA HILLSIDE CONDOS 8 & 9 Client : Dubai Festival Festival City (DFC) Condominium 8 & 9 are part of the second stage of construction within phase 1 of the master-plan for DFC. The community is currently planned to accommodate up-to 1300 properties varying from 1 bedroom studio units to 4 bedroom apartments. The community will also have a variety of 3,4,5 bedroom townhouses within the complex. The proposition for this new village is to maximize views to the golf courses, with the condos acting as fortresses to protect the village within. The village itself will comprise of narrow streets with large trees and planting to provide shade. The concept for the condominiums is based on a simple four-square block with differing facade treatments. INVOLVEMENT:

MASTER PLAN FOR V.U.W Client : Victoria University of Wellington Future planning for the expansion for the main campus on Kelburn hill to accommodate additional teaching/learning spaces and social interaction spaces. The brief also demanded a focal point to be created at the entrance to create a gateway into the campus. Drawings: Hand drawing with photomontage using Photoshop.
INDIAN CULTURAL CENTRE Client : The government of India. ( Indian council of cultural relations) The design of this cultural centre is conceptualized based on the ideas of exchange and meditation. References from traditional Indian architecture such as the gateway, courtyards, and the zharookha have been re-interpreted in a contemporary manner. Responding to the specific site and context of Wellington, a mediation and negotiation occurs between the two cultures and contexts. Drawings: Photoshop,hand rendering & Revit modeling.
