In panicular Hephaislio parallels and paraphrases a good deal of the Te1rabiblos which may allow us to clarify some of the more ambiguous pa.%age.~ of the Tetrubib/(}s. Hephaistio , and his synthesis of Plolemy and Dorotheus, was extremely influential in the Greek world. Several commentaries were wrinen un his wmk in the Byzantine periOO. But he does not seem to have had much impact on Arabic astrology. Of the three books constituting the complete work.thefillt (here translated}dea!swithintroductorymanersanduniversal(ormundane) a.~trology, covering roughly the same r~nge of material as is found in Books I &. II of the Telrubiblas. The =nd deals with natal astro logy, summarl'~ing and at the same lime amplifying Books UJ & IV of the Tetrabiblos.
