Mudras are a non-verbal mode of communication and self-expression, consisting of hand gestures and finger-postures. Mudras are symbolic sign based finger patterns taking the place, but retaining the efficacy of the spoken word, and are used to evoke in the mind ideas symbolizing divine powers or the deities themselves. The composition of a mudra is based on certain movements of the fingers; in other words, mudras constitute a highly stylized form of body or  hand languag language. e. Mudras Can Regulate the Five Elements of the Body*  The Universe is composed of five elements, earth, air, water, fire, and ether. Similarly our body is also a union of five elements which is represented by our five fingers. Hand mudras regulate these five elements in our body. The fingers representing five elements are: the Thumb for Fire;  the Index (Jupiter finger) for Air;  the Middle (Saturn finger) for Ether or Space; the Ring (Sun finger) for Earth;
