Removing base pan To remove the screen base pan , carry out the following instructions. 1. Turn off and isolate the screen from the main power source. 2. Remove all the upper deck screen sections 3. Release the base pan clamp assembly 4. Lift the base pan and remove from screen This procedure will enable you to service the motor and check the motor securing bolts.
Removing / fitting : frames , ring deck supports
Mesh frame & ring decks To mesh frames and ring cleaning decks from the screen assembly , carry out the following instructions. - loosen and remove deck clamp - remove top or middle rim section - lift out mesh frame complete with gasket . where a center support is fitted, see instructions below . fig 15 – 17 - if a ring deck is fitted ,carefully remove the rings and the centre support nut and remove and lift out the ring ring deck. - prior to refitting, inspect all parts for wear i.e. gaskets and cleaning rings and replace as necessary - make sure that all rings fit within the mesh frame. - make sure that the mesh frame is supplied with necessary centre discs, and remember to tighten all nuts.
Electrical , lubrication & maintenance data for motor type df5000-4p-4000 Removal and fitting of bearing. Bearings should only be removed when absolutely necessary. -
Extractor tools sould be usedto remove the outer race, cage and rollers from the bearing housing and the the inner race from the rotor shaft. - If the same bearings are to be used again, wash them thoroughly in mixture of petrol and light machine oil. - When fitting bearings, smear inside recess of the in-housing with grease; lightly pack the outer race and rollers with grease, forcing some well into the working parts.
Since some of the interference fit can be lost by removing and fitting new bearings they should always be re-fitted using loctite 648 or equivalent Refit the housing using a small press or a soft metal drift and hammer The inner race of the bearing should be placed in bath of clean mineral oil and heated to a temperature of 80 degrees centigrade The race should be pushed into place and held against the shaft shoulder until it contracts sufficiently to grip the shaft. Place the rotor carefully inside the stator bore and fit bearings, housings, weights and end cover.
Use loctite 242 ( or equivalent ) on screws when fitting bearing housing and cap. Check that the rotor shaft has the correct float.
Fault finding 1. Vibrator fails to start or run Providing that the supply voltage is present at the vibrator trminal box check the following : a. Supply voltage is correct and starter is ok b. All three phases of supply voltage are connected and the brass links in the vibrator terminal box are present and in correct position for the supply voltage. c. Vibrator is clear of “earth faults“ and the stator winding is not open circuit in any one phase and no short circuits exist between adjacent turn. d. Vibrator is not overloaded electrically or mechanically (see 2) 2. Vibrator current exceeds rated full load current or overheats a. That the vibrator fixing bolts are correctly tightened and there is no damage to the end covers preventing the weights rotating b. Bearings are not partially seized or over greased c. Out of balance weights are not set at too great a force output 3. Vibrator noisy Note due to the increased radial clearance in the bearings it is normal for vibrators to emit a certain amount of noise and they should not be compared with standard electric motors. Check : a. That there are no loose parts on the vibrator b. End covers are not damaged and foulingout of balance weights c. Noise is not due to bearing failure 4. Vibrator (s) does (do) not attain synchronous speed Check : a. That the vibrator is not wrongly connected (star instead of delta) b. Supply voltage and supply frequency are not too low c. Vibrator is not overloaded or partially seized
Normal lubrication procedure As the DF2500-4-2000 series is fitted with external grease points you can lubricate the unit at set intervals. do not over lubricate as the will cause severe overheating and eventual motor failure. Ensure grease nipples are kept clean and only use the recommended lubricant. Normal Duty. Operation of up to 12 hours/ day at up to 25 degrees C ambient in a relatively clean environment. Severe Duty. Operation above 12 hours/ day above 25 degrees C, ambient in a dirty environment. Since operation conditions vary considerably the data is provided as a guide only and should be modified as necessary based on service and experience.
Safety General safety precautions 1. Isolate the electrical supply and lock off before adjusting weights or maintaining the screen 2. Replace inspection door and all other safety fittings before starting screen 3. Ensure the screen is properly earthed 4. Never run screen with top section removed 5. Always use recommended spare parts
