The modular offers The modular offers are designed for studying and setting up products used in the residential, small services and industrial sectors. The purpose of a modular offer is to enable users to create their own configurations using energy training modules mounted on a supporting structure. These energy training modules are designed to be linked and powered via a uniform connector in complete safety. The operational parts of the modular offer can be used to connect a control part to a system in order to simulate a simple real-life process; these control parts are also designed to connect to certain operational parts of the 2013-2014 energy training solutions catalog, by means of either converter sockets or D-sub connectors. The auxiliary parts of the modular offer are designed to ensure that a configuration works correctly. The Modular Offers are made up of a variety of specific automation and energy management components, depending on the offer type. There are seven offers: • • • • •

The Residential and Small Services modular offer for setting up the components of an electrical installation for the home and small service industries. The Solar modular offer for learning about the production of energy by solar panels. The iRIO Telemetry offer for optimising energy consumption. The system coupler module is used for the logical linking and galvanic separation of lines and domains. A changeover switch allows you to switch between "coupler" mode and "amplifier" mode. In coupler mode the component is wired in parallel on the bus and creates a new line (or zone).

SOLAR PANEL MODULE
The polycrystalline solar panel module consists of an aluminium frame within which is fixed a rectangular one-piece element containing the photovoltaic cells. A terminal block is fixed to the rear of the panel. It is fitted with red and blue cables, with 4-mm safety connectors (cable length: 1 m) for fast connection to the various modules. When the solar panel is exposed to sunlight (or an appropriate light source), it supplies electrical energy which after being regulated is used to recharge a 12 V battery. The energy stored in the battery is consumed by a 12 VDC - 230 VAC inverter, which powers a 230 VAC - 15 W or 50 W lamp.

Package presentation The central element of the Telemetry modular offer is an iRIO controller, which collects and stores the data generated by energy and fluid meters or sensors (temperature, pressure, etc. .). The iRIO controller can manage various data types, including pulses, Modbus serial link, M-Bus open communication or analogue data (0-10 V, PT100, PT1000, etc. .). Using a simple web browser it can operate and control an installation remotely and can centralise the remote management and monitoring of operations via a single, easy-to-use interface. Smart interface modules (SIM) with integrated digital inputs/outputs and analogue inputs allow the use of mixed architectures combining wired solutions and wireless Zigbee solutions. The collected data can be viewed in the form of mimic diagrams, management charts and graphs. The iRIO controller can also provide simple control and feedback control functions (control of contactors within a time slot, chrono-proportional control of electric heating, etc. .)

The water meter module consists of a measuring device for assessing the water consumption of an installation. A water meter is based on the principle that the volume of water flowing through a pipe cannot be accurately measured: therefore the actual flow rate is estimated. The only reliable method would be to measure the volume introduced into a container over a defined period.
Technical data The cost of water treatment is very high. Consumers are increasingly being required to monitor and accurately calculate their water consumption. The installation of individual water meters (in homes, businesses and industry, local authorities, etc.) is inevitable, although there is still disagreement about the best way to achieve it.

PT100 TEMPERATURE MODULE
The PT100 temperature module has a resistance of 100 Ohms at 0°C and 138.5 Ohms at 100°C. The Pt100 is no longer sufficient for meteorological characterisation. The platinum resistance sensor (or platinum resistance thermometer PRT) defined as an interpolation instrument by ITS-90 (International Temperature Scale of 1990) is the most sophisticated and can be used for very h igh-precision measurements. This sensor is used in conjunction with interpolating polynomials corresponding to the temperature range in question as a means of establishing the relation between platinum resistance and temperature.

Safety module XPS AC5121 is used for monitoring emergency stop circuits conforming to standards EN/ISO 13850 and EN/IEC 60204-1 and it also meets the safety requirements for the electrical monitoring of switches in protection devices conforming to standard EN 1088/ISO 14119. The Preventa safety module XPSVNE11342P for zero speed detection is used to detect the stop condition of electric motors. Their most common applications include: providing the unlock signal for electrically interlocked movable machine guards, controlling rotation direction signals for reversing motors and engaging locking brakes after a motor has come to a standstill. When electric motors slow down, a remanent voltage is produced in the windings of the motor due to residual magnetism. This voltage is proportional to the speed of the motor and therefore decreases as the motor slows. This remanent voltage is measured in a redundant manner so as to detect the stop condition of the motor. The cabling between the motor windings and the inputs of the XPS VNE module is also monitored to prevent a stoppage being simulated in the event of a broken cable. A transformer should not be used to connect the motor to terminals Z1, Z2 and Z3 since there is no monitoring of the connection with the motor winding via the resistance monitoring.
