5 PRACTICAL STEPS HOW TO BECOME CCNA IN THE PHILIPPINES →1.
SET YOUR GOAL
As I shared before, I'm a big fan of setting goals. Either financial goals or any goals in life, I always create plans in every goals or target I set. At ang first step na gusto ko i-share kung pano ka magiging CCNA in a practical way is to set goals. Write it! Not just in your mind, but I'm telling you to create and lay out a career goals on why and how you can become a CCNA in paper. Actually this applies in all of your goals in life. If you're aiming to learn Cisco networking at gusto mo maging CCNA, you have to set those goals. Kuha ka ng malinis na papel at isulat mo dito ang CCNA career goals mo. No need to be formal, just write the goals in terms you can understand. After writing them down, set deadlines or timeframe. Yes, kelangan mo lagyan ng deadline or target date kung kelan mo dapat gawin or ma-achieve ang goals na si-net mo. A goal without a date is just a wish . Saktong sakto 'to kasi mag-new year na. It can be your new year's resolution to become a CCNA next year. Or CCNP or whatever. Just make sure you write them down together with their target dates.

2. ORGANIZE YOUR PLAN
After mong ma-iset ang goals mo kelangan mo naman gumawa ng plano how to achieve them. Let say your career goal next year is to become a CCNA.
In order to achieve that, you need to create and organize a plan. Kahit simpleng plano lang malaking tulong. Isulat mo din ito sa papel kasama ng iyong mga goals. Organizing your plan includes how are you going to study, train, practice, read and others. Kumbaga kung pano ka makaka-punta from point A to point B. Kung papunta ka ng Fairview, mag-bubus ka ba? Or mag-vavan? Or mag-mrt para mas mabilis? I hope na-gets mo idol. Kasama rin dapat sa plano mo ang date ng exam, type ng exam, ano gagawin mo kapag naka-pasa etc. Lahat ng gusto mo mangyari. Isulat mo lahat ang mga ito or iprint. Kahit simpleng papel or word or excel document lang. Make sure na lagi mo s'ya nakikita or binabasa to re-enforce your brain. That way, mas gaganahan ka pa at mas sisipagin ka pa i-achieve ang mga goals mo. Ang first 2 steps na yan ay importante para ma-achieve mo ang iyong goals. Hindi lang bilang CCNA kundi pati na rin sa ibang goals mo sa buhay. Ang mga susunod na steps naman ay ang aking suggestion on how you can become a CCNA in the Philippines in a very practical way.

3 SELF-STUDY
Gaya ng ginawa ko dati, mas ok na meron ka ng konti or basic knowledge about computer networking bago ka sumabak sa training. Either online, bootcamp man or full course training malaki ang maitutulong ng foundational knowledge mo para masulit at mas maintindihan mo ang mga topics sa training. Lalo na kung ikaw ay 0-knowledge or talagang beginner pa lamang. Kahit sinasabi ng mga CCNA training centers na ang course or training nila is designed for 0-knowledge or beginners, there is a big possibility na ma-information overload ka or ma-confuse sa mga topic at lessons. By doing self-study first, you can build the foundation knowledge para maintindihan mo ang mga basic at ma-fire up mo pa ang passion mo na matuto at magsumikap. Pagdating sa training, mabilis mong mauunawaan ang mga topic at mapapalawak mo na ang iyong kaalaman. Maliliwanagan ka rin sa mga questions na gumugulo sa'yo habang nagseself-study. Hindi ka na ma-iinformation overload sa training dahil nag-sync in na sayo ang mga basic before ka pa mag-enroll.

Let say goal mo maging CCNA next year, pwede kang mag-allot ng 2 hours every weekend for the first 6 months to do self-study. Magbasa at manood ng mga CCNA videos. Magbasa at mag-practice. Bawas ka muna ng laro, facebook at tv. You can include them in your plan. And then commit and take action. By doing this, you're following your plan and you're getting closer to your goals. Disiplina at tyaga lang mga kapatid. :)

4. ENROLL ON BOOTCAMP TRAINING
Ang bootcamp training or fast-track training ay isang fast-phase training. Ang schedule ay 5 consecutive days or 5 consecutive weekends lang hindi gaya ng full-time courses na buwan ang isang module or topic. Since ang CCNA bootcamp training ay fast-phase, there is a big possibility na maginformation overload ka. Lalo na kung 0-knowledge, beginner or career shifter ka. Sa dami ba naman ng topic ng CCNA, akalain mong pag-kasyahin sa loob 5 araw. Haha. Wag din kayo maniwala na dedicated sa 0-knowledge ang mga CCNA bootcamp training centers. Ipupusta ko ang sweldo ko(LOL) na meron at merong times na mag-ooverload ka sa information at maguguluhan sa mga topics. Lalo na kung beginner ka talaga. Trust me. Kaya ko ni-suggest ang step 3. Self-study bago mag-training. In bootcamp training, dito papasok ang self-study knowledge mo. Since nag-aral kana at naintindihan mo na ang mga basic, more likely mas mabilis mong maiintindihan ang mga topic sa CCNA bootcamp training at hindi ka na ma-coconfuse. Isa-isa din masasagot ng discussion ang mga tanong sa isip mo nung nagseself-study ka pa. I am suggesting at prefer ko ang CCNA bootcamp training kesa sa full courses sa mga sumusunod na dahilan. 1. Save money - Ang presyo ng CCNA bootcamp training ay halos ka-presyo lang ng isang module ng isang CCNA fulltime course. Lalo na sa mga mahal at sikat na schools. 2. Save time - Ang isang module ng CCNA fulltime course ay tumatagal ng 3 months or higit pa. Ang schedule ay 2 Classes every week or depende. Isang module pa lang 'yun. Sa CCNA bootcamp training, in a week or in a month tapos na lahat ng topics. 3. Lab with real devices - Yes you can do all the simulations and lab on a simulation software pero I'm telling you iba pa rin kapag "real life" mo nahahawakan ang mga devices.
Mas ma-aappreciate mo ang CCNA career mo at mas maiintindihan mo ito ng mas maayos. Mas ma-eexcite ka at mas gaganahan. You'll have the "real world experience " somehow. Meron akong kakilala, ang galing sa packet tracer at GNS3, pero pagdating sa real world hindi alam kung san ikakabit ang console cable at kung paano ito ma-aaccess. Patay tayo dyan. Lol. 4. Meet CCNA friends - Isa sa pinaka-importanteng dahilan kung bakit I suggest live training is to meet other aspiring CCNAers. Yes, meeting other guys having same goals as you are a nice experience. Wala nito sa mga online training at simulations. Friendships and real life connections. Importante yan. These are some of my firm beliefs personally. Syemp're iba iba naman. Kung may pera ka at oras at mas prefer mo ang full time course, walang masama doon. Kung mas prefer mo naman ang online courses, wala rin masama doon. Kung saan ka mas komportable at kung saan ka mas-mag eexcel dun ka. Hindi dahil ok sakin or sa iba eh ok na din sayo. See what's work best for you and then do it! Gotcha?

5. ANOTHER ROUND OF SELF-STUDY
After ng training, mas mainam na mag-refresh or mag-self study ka muna ulit bago ka mag-exam. Mas makakatulong ito para makapag-practice ka pa at makapag review sa mga posibleng questions na lumabas sa CCNA exam. Karamihan din sa mga training centers ay nag-ooffer ng FREE sit-in or FREE review kung sa kanila ka nag-training. Take advantage of them. Malaki ang maitutulong nito upang mas lalo ka pang mahasa at matuto at siyempre maging confident sa exam. Practice ka ng mga sample labs tska mga sample questions lalo na ang subnetting. Make sure kabisado mo ng mag-configre ng mga routing protocols etc. That way, mabuild mo muna yung confidence mo at mai-ready mo yung sarili mo for the exam. Sipag at tiyaga lang idol, I’ m sure babalik lahat yan sa’ yo. Doble doble pa. Of course, hindi kahit aral ka ng aral, hindi ka pa rin magiging certified CCNA kung hindi mo gagawin yung next step. Which is taking the examination itself.

6. TAKE THE EXAM
After following all the steps above, it is now time to take the CCNA exam. Sye'mpre kasama din dapat ito sa plano n'yo. Kung kelan at kung type ng exam ang kukunin n'yo. I suggest take the composite or CCNAx. Ang saklap naman nag nag-self study ka at nag-training pero hindi ka naman kukuha ng exam. Sayang. Isagad mo na idol! Kung talagang gusto, gagawan mo ng paraan yan. But before taking the exam, I suggest to do another round of self-study again. Balikan mo ulit yung mga topic at mga lessons. Practice the labs. Make sure na naiintidihan mo sila. Sabi ko nga,on most training centers, nag-ooffer din sila ng mga sit-in review. Take advantage of those. Malaki ang maitutulong nun para maipasa mo ang exam. Dapat kasama rin sa plano n'yo un. Plan plan plan! Then take action! The whole process can take a year or mas maaga, depende sa'yo. Wag mo madaliin. Wag mo biglain baka dumugo! Haha. Lalo sa mga begin ners. I suggest you to take some time with yourself alone this holiday season and set your goals for next year. Let say the next 6 months of 2017 self-study ka, then July - August bootcamp training, tapos September self-study at review ulit. Then October exam. Before Christmas next year, CCNA certified ka na. Napaka-gandang papasko nun para sa sarili mo. Wag ka muna mag-resign, kung may plano ka lumipat. Saka na kapag nakapasa kana at sure na may lilipatan ka na. Be practical. Be smart! Then December update ka resume, tapos apply ng promotion sa current work mo or apply ng new work sa labas. Malay natin by January 2018 nasa networking industry ka na at na-eenjoy mo na at nagagamit ang mga pinag-aralan at mga natutunan mo. Ma-eexperience mo na ang mga maraming benefits ng pagiging Cisco certified. These are just an examples and estimate for a real 0-knowledge. Pwedeng mapabilis depende sa effort at sipag mo. At higit sa lahat, mapapatunayan mo sa ibang tao at lalo na sa sarili mo na kaya mo pala! No amount of money or anything can beat sa happiness at feeling of success na nakuha mo ang isang bagay dahil pinag-hirapan mo. That's priceless! When looking for a job kahit online or offline pa yan, the basic thing you need is your resume. Right? Kahit CCNA jobs or anong job ang hanap mo, resume ang unang “bala ” mo sa gera ng employment.
SAMPLE RESUME’ FOR CCNA BEGINNER Here is a sample resume na pwede mong magamit when you passed the CCNA exam or sabihin natin na kahit hindi ka pa pasado pero familiar at aware ka na sa mga networking concepts at CCNA technologies. Here’s a sample resume na pwede mong gayahin ang format at style.
Ok, let me break it down para mas maliwanag. In Part 1, as you can see mga idol is my personal information. Make sure na tama at updated ang lahat ng information na ilalagay mo dito. Your name spelling, phone number and email address ay napaka-halaga when looking and applying for a job. Pwede mo rin i-indicate kung ano position ang ina-applyan mo or your current position. This shows our goals and intention kung ano at sino tayo(in character) and a brief summary of what we can do and give to the company.
Kadalasan na nakikita kong goal is “to apply and get a good job ” or “get a good position or salary ”. Mali! Dapat una muna kung ano ang maico-contribute or maitutulong mo sa company. That way, makikita ka nila as asset or help sa team nila. Gets idol? On Part 3, ilagay mo yung mga skill set mo. Pwede mong gayahin kung anong meron diyan sa sample at siyempre idagdag mo yung ibang skills mo na meron ka. Note: Make sure na alam mo talaga at naiintindihan mo ang mga skills na ilalagay mo kasi kadalasan yan ang itinatanong sa technical interview. Sa Part 8, pampahaba na naman. Haha. No joke idol, ilagay mo yung mga extracurricular mo lalo na kung fresh grad or beginner ka. Promise, malaking bagay yan. Let say leader ka ng isang org sa school or di kaya naman best thesis ka nung graduation. Isa pa, lagi rin nagpapalitan ng mga kuro-kuro at opinion pati na rin mga updates sa mga group na yan kaya makakatulong din yan sa career mo idol. Sa facebook meron din. Make sure lang na legit ang mga groups at members when you joined.

Hindi kasi lahat ng company nagrerely sa online job portals, meron din na nag-uupdate lang sa mga career page ng website nila. So kung talagang wala ka pa rin makita at para ma-exhaust mo lahat ng ways to find a job, pwede mo itong gawin. Ilista mo yung mga related company sa trabahong gusto mo or expertise mo. Let say wala ka idea sa mga company, pwede mo rin i-google yung categories ng mga company na yan para makita mo kung sino-sino sila. Let say for example, “internet service providers in the philippines ”, this will give you the list or results of ISP in the philippines. Then again, check and visit their career page. Sipag at tiyaga lang idol, in time makakahanap at makakapag-simula ka rin. I recommend finding online job first kasi mas madali, mas practical at mas convenient.
