Preface to the Raising Raising Kundalini Program The day is finally here to release the new program on how to raise Kundalini. This manual is designed to provide supplemental information to compliment the main program. It will be updated and improved as the program evolves, so please check the version number under the title occasionally. The program is finally ready for launch, but I just discovered a few minor glitches here and there. These were on my ‘to do’ list but I simply forgot. These will be rectified after the program is launched. I don’t want to delay the launch yet again to fix these small issues. This includes a couple of minor item repetitions, and a few seconds here and there with audio distortion, caused by equipment issues during production. These small areas with audio distortion are quite understandable, but the ambience is a bit off. I will be adding some new video presentations over the next few weeks. These can be considered ‘addendums’ to the main program. They will deal with certain subjects in more depth, plus offer new insights and informal discussion. Raising Kundalini forum. I forum. Your Expectations For This Course This program is based on experience and focuses on practical understanding and practical work, rather than delving into Kundalini lore and the inner mysteries of the energy body and its Chakras. As I have said, exploring the mysteries of the energy body and its Chakras, and Kundalini, can become more of an exercise in spiritual and metaphysical poetry than anything else. There are plenty of books bo oks like this around, but no practical works of any use for actually raising Kundalini. We have worked long and hard over the almost two years it took to build this program, to keep the size down to manageable levels.
Introduction to the the Raising Kundalini Kundalini Program Manual: The Raising Kundalini program contains Robert Bruce’s practical teachings and advice and instructions for raising Kundalini. While some historical information and theoretical speculation are given to provide context, this is essentially a practical and experience-driven manual. This same intention applies to popular mythology and beliefs. For example, a weighty book could be written about each Chakra, but most of it would be Eastern mythology and speculation, and very little would involve practical instruction. It is my responsibility as a teacher to structure what I teach in what I consider to be the safest and most effective format possible. I have made just about every mistake possible in my own journey, but as a teacher that is my forte. This hands-on experiential knowledge allows me the luxury of helping my students avoid the many pitfalls I stumbled into on my own journey to the here and now. The structure and way in which I teach is designed for a broad spectrum of students from all walks of life and backgrounds; from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Some students will, of course, ignore sage advice and do things their own way. way. They will make mistakes, yes, but they may also discover ways of doing things that suit them better. The human energy body and its Chakra system is much like the physical body. It can be stressed and even damaged and it will respond with healing and growth, if given the means and opportunity. opportunity. The energy body and its Chakras are robust, and capable of self-repair. So even if misfortune and damage occur, healing and self-repair will take place if The Golden Rule is followed, which is to use common sense and take a break if anything disturbing or painful occurs. This break should last as long as a s necessary, necessary, until you feel completely normal again. Then, return to what you were doing. In this way, like a body builder, your subtle energy systems and mind, which are integrated through personality, will progress and grow to become finer and more powerful instruments of expression. My First Kundalini Experience: Experience: When I first succeeded in raising my Kundalini, after several hours of effort, my base center opened wide and, in a way, way, exploded, releasing Kundalini. Energy exploded
painfully upwards through the length of my spine, and my mind’s eye exploded with dazzling white light. This was a major Kundalini spike. This was followed about twenty-minutes later by a sensation much like a large snake, as thick as a man’s wrist, entering my base center and uncoiling three and a half coils upwards through my body. body. This was a visceral sensation, and I could feel my internal organs moving, or being moved, out of its way as it rose through me, finally penetrating my head and crown center. Note: I did not experience the Medusa effect effect or the sacred “Aummm” “Aummm” sound/vibration the first time I succeeded. All this was to come later, during subsequent Kundalini raising sessions as I developed the Kundalini bioenergy phenomena. At the culmination of this first experience, I was ejected from my physical body. body. This was a very powerful Real Time OBE – more like a NDE (near death experience) in quality. quality. The ceiling vanished and I found myself looking up into another world. It was bright and sunny above and I saw clouds and blue-sky and could hear birdsong birdsong in the distance. It was like I was inside inside a big well. I saw a man with dark curly curly shoulder-length hair, dressed in a simple off-white off-white robe tied with robe around his waist, looking down on me. I did not know what to do, so I called out “G’day, “G’day, mate.” This startled him. He held up a finger, gesturing for me to wait right there. He then hurried away looking quite concerned. He returned with two strangely dressed men…well, strangely dressed for modern days, that is. The first was a large black man with a massive bejewelled, royal-blue turban and flowing robes. He looked intently at me, then slowly shook his head and left. The other was a small, thin, wizened man with light-brown skin, wearing a fantastic bejewelled leather hat, with many tiers, rising to a point about three-feet three-feet high, with large ear pieces encrusted with jewels. This looked like some of the pictures I have seen of many-tiered buildings in Tibet. This man also looked at me, slowly shook his head h ead and walked away. I sensed my life was hanging by a thread. Either that or my physical body was already dead and this was some kind of afterlife experience. I was more curious than scared. I appeared to be in the hands of masters, whatever one should call these exalted beings, and was for some reason being examined. For what reason they were examining examining me I had no idea. This part of the experience was serious and very formal. I did not know the reason for this, this, but it obviously involved what I had just done, raising Kundalini to its full for the first time . I had learned long ago, when this kind of thing happened, to keep smiling and go with the flow, and pretend I knew what I was doing. After they left, the dark-haired man also looked at me intensely, and then slowly shook his head and turned to leave with the others. But after a few steps he seemed to hesitate and change his mind. He stopped, came back and jumped jumped down into my room. He waved waved his hand and somehow floated my physical body, body, from where it lay crumpled on the floor, onto the bed, face down (or rather, rather, to hover just above it). He gestured for me to come come closer and look for myself. He waved his hand and I could see inside of my physical body. There were a dozen or so small creatures, like the small creatures in the movie “Critters”, crawling around inside of my torso near my spine. He indicated that I should have died because because of what I had done to myself. (He spoke telepathically and not in words.) If I could put it into words, he said “You have this inside of you, and you did this (Kundalini). You should be dead!”
With that, the scene around me faded and the next thing I knew was a falling sensation and a bump that knocked the wind out of me as my physical body landed face down on the bed.
Background Information: The Essentials Program is designed as a tutorial for the complete beginner , as well as a robust refresher course for more advanced students. It’s carefully thought out video content teaches everything that is needed to undertake the exercises given ahead in the main program. We decided to shift the essentials into a separate and clearly marked program of its own, to streamline the main program. This will also allow us to use the essentials program elsewhere, so we don’t have to keep filming the same thing repeatedly for each new program. Our decision to do this was encouraged by user feedback from our other programs. The essentials program starts at the beginning and describes Robert Bruce’s new system of energy work and how he discovered it. First called NEW Energy Ways, this soon evolved into Body Awareness Tactile Tactile Imaging, which is a more descriptive term. This is also called BATI BATI for short. Body Awareness Tactile Tactile Imaging is a far superior system of energy work than anything that has come before, and there is a reason for this, which I’ll get to in a minute. This is great news for new users of energy work, as the fundamentals of BATI can be learned in under five minutes. 99% of new users will feel significant energy movement in their own bodies in this short time. And those that take a little longer always catch on with a little more practice. The secret ingredient in BATI is the use of your kinaesthetic senses, of your Body Awareness senses. It may surprise you to know that humans have more than the five main senses, and this is one of them. From the dictionary: dictionary: kinaesthesia (US kinesthesia (US kinesthesia)) noun [mass noun] awareness of the position and movement of the parts of the body by means of sensory organs (proprioceptors) in the muscles and joints. DERIVATIVES DERIVATIVES kinaesthetic - adjective ORIGIN late 19th cent.: from Greek kinein Greek kinein ‘to move’ + !sis is ‘sensation’ . move’ + aisth ! s As you can see from the above dictionary description, Body Awareness Tactile Tactile Imaging is very aptly named. This leads us to the question of how something so fundamental to the stimulation and manipulation of the human energy body and its Chakras and energies could possibly have been overlooked for so long. The answer is, it was not overlooked. BATI is the missing translation link between ancient Eastern terminology and modern Western terminology. terminology. A hundred and fifty or so years ago, a lot of ancient Eastern spiritual and metaphysical information, including Yoga Yoga and martial arts, a rts, was brought to the West and translated into English and other European languages. There are of course many problems inherent to translation, and it is not uncommon for the original intentions and meanings of the original authors to be dented , and sometimes even lost entirely. This is one case of where severe denting transpired during translation.
The only word that existed in the English language at the time, to describe how to move energy, was the word VISUALIZATION. The same problem existed in other European languages. So all spiritual metaphysical techniques were translated as visualise this, and visualise that. The actual instructions on how to move energy were, in this way, entirely lost in the translation process. This means that if you have problems with visualization, as most people do, then visualization based energy work is extremely difficult to master. About 50% of people have difficulties with visualization based exercises, and about 25% of people are completely stopped by this. Those people that do manage to make headway with visualization based energy work exercises are instinctively connecting to their tactile senses, and using a form of Body Awareness Tactile Imaging. Added to this, visualization itself is usually very poorly explained and taught. The truth is that visualization IS imagination, and everyone can imagine perfectly, even the smallest child. You don’t actually see anything in your head when you imagine, but you can still perceive everything in minute detail. If you do see what you imagine, then this is a clairvoyant ability. But most people are not clairvoyant and do not see anything. I’m sure you can see the problems here, especially if spiritual teachers have some clairvoyance and do see what they visualize/imagine. This, especially if they just assume that everyone can do this. Body Awareness Tactile Imaging levels the playing field. With this system, everyone can do energy work exercises and keep up with led meditations. Imagination is used in conjunction with Body Awareness Tactile Imaging. Imagination ‘shapes’ energy work actions, and adds intention and properties. For example, you can imagine an energy ball you are using is made of water, which adds the cooling element of water. You can also imagine it is a ball of fire, adding fire element, and etcetera. Body Awareness Tactile Imagine is the missing link that makes energy work possible. Without this, nothing will work. And this particularly applies to the stimulation of the major Chakras, and raising Kundalini. It is simply impossible to move enough energy to do the heavier forms of energy work, if you do not use Body Awareness Tactile Imaging. The History of Body Awareness Tactile Imaging To provide context to this work, at this point I give the history and background of body awareness tactile imaging, how I discovered it and how it progressed. My first big breakthrough occurred while I was coaching two blind-since-birth people I was coaching on astral projection. Since both had never experienced sight, all visualization methods were useless to them. I got the idea of using another sense, the sense of touch, as this is very strong in blind people. I formulated the new technique, which I called ROPE, and tried it out immediately. This was very effective and I was out of my body in just a few minutes. Several weeks later, I was sitting by the fire and thinking, which is my favourite thing to do. I was living in my mother’s house at the time, so I had lots of privacy in
which to experiment and explore. After some hours of this, I started thinking about the Chakras. It came to me that as there were major Chakras, then there should also be minor Chakras. (This experience was several years post Kundalini. I had, without knowing it, been using body awareness tactile imaging all along. I just did not realize it. This was why I was so successful with my energy work and Chakra activation.) I started with my big toe at the joint where it joined the foot. I theorised that this would likely contain a minor Chakra. I spent quite a lot of time wrestling with it, trying this and trying that. And then I started ‘feeling’ a stirring action on top of the joint. Within seconds this area started to throb noticeably. I had a ‘eureka’ moment and tried other things. I stirred it and brushed it and other things. Then I moved my body awareness through the big toe, back and forth. The sensations got stronger. Then I moved onto my other toes and the rest of my foot. Hours later I was sitting there with my whole body literally surging with energy. It was early evening and I went into my office, stunned at what I had discovered. I knew it was incredibly important. I turned on the lamp and sat on my day bed and leaned back against the cushions and dug thought about my new discovery. A moment later there was a big flash of light in the middle of my room and a man materialized there. He was heavy set and had black skin and a huge mop of hair and was wearing a full-length bright orange robe. I was momentarily startled, but more curious than anything else. This very interesting and powerful man smiled at me and took a step towards me. He did not speak, but communicated telepathically with me. He thought “now you have it, what are you going to do with it?” In the back of my mind I knew that it would take years or hard work to develop this new discovery into an energy work system. I was being lazy and was burying that thought. I would probably have just done an article on it for my website and moved on to something else. He gestured to me again with a twinkle in his eye and repeated himself, adding “so, so…so…what are you going to do with this, Robert?” He was most convincing. I nodded and accepted the task of developing the new energy work system. With another flash of light the man disappeared like he had been beamed up to the Star Ship Enterprise. The next morning, I told my mother what had happened. When I described the man that had appeared in my room. She got excited and started turfing through boxes of old books. My mother collected books. A bit later she came back with her prize, a book with a picture of the man that had visited my room the night before. There was no mistake. It was Sathya Sai Baba, the Indian guru. I had never heard of him before this time. I was not a follower and I never became one. He was still alive and well at the time of this event. He passed away in 2011 at the age of 85. The take away from this experience is that this materialization of an Indian guru greatly encouraged me to do what I needed to develop the Body Awareness Tactile Imaging system into what it is today. Again, I think I would have moved on to something else and avoided all the work that was involved, if it had not been for this visit. I can’t give you any more information about this experience, or Sai Baba, because I simply do not know. Some of the things that happen in the greater reality are perplexing to say the least.
In 2012, not long before Sai Baba passed away, he released a most peculiar cryptic statement in a public address. This was, that a new energy was appearing in the world, and that it would be so powerful that it would make some people go crazy. I can’t help but think that what he meant by NEW energy referred to the original name I gave the system, which was ‘NEW Energy Ways’. Body Awareness Tactile Imaging Demonstration Exercise: The easiest way to learn how to do energy work is to do it. It is surprisingly simple to learn and most people make good progress after just a few minutes instruction and some demonstration exercises.
Here is a short explanation along with demonstration exercises to illustrate the effectiveness of Body Awareness Tactile Imaging. Take a moment and do these exercises right now and soon you’ll be running energy like a master. Body Awareness Tactile Imaging is a simple yet powerful method of directly simulating your energy body with your tactile senses - a true armchair system. It is easy to learn and to use. The majority of students move energy well and experience noticeable energy movement sensations during their first practice session. Energy movements are felt with a variety of predictable sensations, including warmth, tingling, heaviness, tightness, bone deep tickling, buzzing, and the feeling of a magnetic wave moving in the body. The underlying principles of BATI can be found in all Eastern energy systems, like Qi-Gong, Tai-Chi, Yoga, and Tantric systems, albeit sometimes in obtuse and difficult to comprehend forms to the Western mind. BATI, however, has been designed completely for Westerners, using easily understandable Western-descriptive terminology. Essentially, BATI is a tactile system (based on the sense of touch and 'feel') that utilizes focused body awareness actions to move energy through your body. In practice, when one's attention is focused in a specific part of one's body, that part becomes energetically stimulated. The nerves in that part of the body also become stimulated. When this focus of body awareness is given motion - meaning, when one focuses on a specific body part and then moves that focus through the body - the underlying energy body structures of that area are directly stimulated. This body awareness movement causes energy body stimulation and development. In this way, energy can be moved at will throughout the body, and specific energy centers (Chakras) can be targeted and directly stimulated. This stimulates higher levels of energy body functioning, opening the way to psychic and spiritual abilities. Brushing Hands and Feet

Rest your left hand on your desk or lap with the palm facing up. With the fingertips of your right hand stroke the whole underside of your left hand from wrist to fingertips repeatedly. Take about half a second each way. While doing this, memorize the feel of the touch this movement produces in your left hand. Continue stroking for half-a-minute, until you can reproduce the feel and movement of this action in your left hand from the touch memory, with your mind and body awareness alone. When you can do this, stop physically stroking and continue moving this ‘feel’ through the whole of your left hand. Continue this and you will begin to feel some peculiar sensations, like pressure, heaviness, tingling, buzzing, or tickling. These sensations indicate that you have successfully stimulated your energy body in that area. Repeat the above exercise with your right hand, then with each foot, then with other parts of your body. Remember, the key ingredient to making this work is to move your sense of 'touch' and 'feel' through your body.
Creating Energy Balls
Hold your hands out in front, palms facing each other, about 12 inches apart. Imagine and 'feel' that you have a tennis ball sized globe of energy held in the right. Next, bounce this ball between your hands, without moving your hands. Imagine and 'feel' this ball bouncing from palm to palm. Keep doing this for half a minute, then extend the bounce action so the ball is passing 'through' your hands, several inches each side. Repeat the above exercise with the soles of your feet, by resting your feet on their sides, 12 inches apart, roughly facing each other. Repeat this exercise with your knees, then your elbows, then your ankles. Note the sensations that each exercise produces in your body. The BATI system builds upon the above demonstration exercise with easy and progressive steps. Larger and deeper parts of your energy body - including the primary Chakras - are thus stimulated and exercised. The videos in the program do a much better job of teaching this. They will take you through a variety of exercises that will teach you step by step everything you need to know
about how to do energy work. They will also show you the main body awareness tactile imaging actions that are used throughout this program. The essentials program also covers the subject of Deep Physical Relaxation. This is an essential skill for approaching the heavier and more esoteric practices. You need to be able to deeply relax your physical body, and also to relax your mind and clear it of thought words. The physical body is taken through a series of progressive tensing and relaxing exercises that cover the entire body. This is a tried and proven way of achieving deep relaxation. This may sound a bit laborious, but it becomes progressively easier because the body becomes quickly entrained to this procedure. In time, a simple wave of body awareness and intention will send your physical body into a deeply relaxed state. Side effects of BATI are now discussed. These include all the energy work sensations, tingling, buzzing, tightness, heaviness, and Chakra activation activations. By and large these side effects are a natural result of awakening the energy body and its Chakras. A more notable side effect that some people get is temporary insomnia. This is caused by doing energy work to close to bed time. The solution to this, if you are affected, is to do most of your energy work earlier. It is natural to want to do energy work once you get into bed. This is not a big problem for most people and experimentation is the only way to find out whether you will be affected or not. Chakras can activate quite strongly, with heavy throbbing and tingling and energy movement sensations, in response to energy work. These can happen during energy work, or even hours later for no discernable reason. If this happens, you do not need to do anything to deactivate your Chakras. Eat something or take a nap and the sensations will usually ease. If they continue for longer, there is always a reason. This might be the restoration of a Chakra or an area in the energy body that is depleted. There is intelligence to the energy body. So if sensations continue, do your best to ignore it and it will go away when it has finished what it is doing. The Golden Rule, plus healthy grounding practices, are designed to ease all types of energy work side effects , if they happen to be overly strong . The Golden Rule is something you will hear many times in this program, and in my written works. This rule is…If you feel any discomfort or distress through the practice of energy work, more than you are comfortable with, stop what you are doing and take a break. Go and eat something, take a shower, have a nap, etcetera. This break should be as long as is needed, be this a few minutes or a year. In this way, much like body building, the energy body is given time to recover and heal and adapt to the greater demands that are being placed upon it. This is particularly important when you are approaching heavier Chakra activation and Kundalini raising. In the early stages of energy work and meditation and other spiritual development exercises, some people will experience pressure symptoms over Chakras. These are most commonly in the head area, particularly the forehead and whole top of head. These can cause strong headaches. If this happens to you, apply the golden rule, and treat the pain as you would treat any other headache. Return to energy work and meditation only when the pain has completely gone. Pain may recur over a few weeks, but rarely longer than this. This is a healthy sign that your higher Chakras are awakening out of dormancy. Some people will find that when they are moving energy through their limbs, arms or legs, that their focal points of energy will not move well together. One will lag behind the other and this is very distracting, making it difficult to continue. The workaround for this is to move your energy in opposite directions in each leg or arm. So, for example, you start at the left foot
and the right hip, and move your energy up and down each leg in opposite directions. This solves most problems where one energy focal point is lagging behind the other. Altered States of Consciousness: This program contains a robust tutorial for achieving altered states of consciousness, what they are and how to induce them. In order to approach raising Kundalini, you will need to be well practiced in the art of altered state induction, along with deep physical and mental relaxation. Normally, over your whole lifetime, your mind is left largely to its own devices. It does what it wants when it wants. If you have every tried to force yourself to study or focus on something when your mind does not want to, you’ll know what I mean. It is almost as if the mind were a separate part of you with a life and will of its own. And this is not far from the truth. For the untrained mind is closely enmeshed with the ego. In its wild state, this aspect of you can aptly be called the Ego Mind. The ego mind fulfils its natural purpose by acting like a reminder application. It is constantly reminding you of things you need to do, that is when it is not imagining and fantasizing and daydreaming. The ego, of course, is mostly interested in maximizing pleasure and reward and minimizing discomfort and work. It likes simple problem solving. In order to get the mind to cooperate with goals of deep physical mental relaxation and achieving altered states of consciousness, it needs to be put through a progressive course of training. It takes time and regular practice to tame and train the ego mind. Forming good habits is key to this process. It takes two to three weeks to form any kind of habit, and then life gets easier. Habits and Thought Forms: What we call ‘a habit’ can be aptly described as a ‘thought form’, because this is what a habit is. The ego mind loves habits, and forming habits is the only way normal humans have discovered to get the ego mind to cooperate, so they can get things done. We create a thought form habit and the ego mind loves a habit. It will then urge you and remind you to carry out this habit at the appropriate times. If you fail to fulfil a habit, the ego mind will not be happy. It will then make you feel ‘uncomfortable’ and thoughts of fulfilling the habit will come frequently to mind. The ego mind will continue to harass you until you either fulfil the habit, or until you create a new habit of not doing this anymore. When a habit is broken we say ‘I fell out of the habit of doing this’ of ‘I broke the habit’. For example, lets say you get into the habit of going to the gym every day. You fought to do this in the beginning, but after a few weeks it became a habit. Now you feel bad if you don’t go to the gym each day. And you will have to fight every day against this urge until you either return to your gym habit, or break it completely. This same process also applies to food and substance addictions. Of course, you also have addictive substances here, adding weight to the ego mind habit. When a habit becomes reinforced and firmly entrenched over a long period of time, it becomes either a discipline or an addiction. These can be either healthy or unhealthy. The natural state of the average person’s mind is called ‘monkey mind’ for a good reason, to use the Eastern term, because the mind generally behaves in an erratic egocentric manner. It flits here and there and is not at all organized. It functions on whim and habit, much like the behaviour of a small child. This situation works reasonably well for the average person in the real world, but it falls down badly for esoteric practices like meditation, and especially for raising Kundalini. This video unit explains everything you need to know and gives step-by-step instructions for achieving deep altered states of consciousness. It also provides workarounds and tips and tricks to enable you to overcome any problems that might arise in your own practices.
The practices given in this unit are uncomplicated and easy to achieve, even for complete beginners. Most of the work involves ways of using body awareness focus on breathing, along with some imagination to colour the action with intention. For example, if you just sit and close your eyes and focus on your belly, and how it moves slightly as you breathe, you will soon fall into an altered state. The same thing happens if you focus on the tip of your nose, and the air passing in and out of your nose. If you add imagination to this breathing focus, like imagining you are in an elevator that is moving downward so you can almost feel it, the effect is greatly magnified. These uncomplicated methods are all you need to begin the big journey within your self. And with regular ‘habit forming’ practice, you will soon achieve the fabled ‘mind awake + body asleep state’ which is perfect for things like astral projection, and raising Kundalini. Everything works better in an altered state. Meditation is strongly related to the subject of altered states of consciousness. Meditation, if done regularly, causes spiritual and psychic development on all levels, as well as psychological growth, maturity, and healing. Your higher self, that illusive divine aspect of self, is brought closer into alignment with the inner collective which is you. OBE (Astral Projection) considerations are discussed, as this is something you need to know. Out of body experience (OBE), also called, astral projection, is a common side-effect of meditating in altered states of consciousness. In these states, the physical body is allowed to fall asleep, while the mind stays awake. In this state ‘the mind awake + body asleep state’, OBE is common. While I say it is common, this is seldom realized, because of the annoying Mind Split Effect, which happens during OBE. During OBE, two copies of your mind will be functioning simultaneously, the physical body mind, and the astral body mind. If the memory of the OBE body mind does not download successfully (which is most common) there is no way to realize that an OBE has occurred. Symptoms of meditation induced spontaneous OBE including whole body tingling rushes of energy, fluttering eyelids and eyeballs (called REM, or Rapid Eye Movement), falling sensations, and rapid heartbeat sensation (which is the heart Chakra and not the physical heart). Minds eye visuals are also common, where you see the room around you through your closed eyelids, or where you see places you could not possibly see from your location. This could be a friend’s house, or anywhere. Altered State Inducing Sound: The subject of using altered state inducing sounds is introduced. These sounds are a true shortcut that can save years of work entraining yourself to shift into specific altered state levels. The most well-known altered state inducing sounds are called Hemi Sync, discovered by the late Robert Monroe. These are available through The Monroe Institute (TMI). The sound setup you can use is discussed, with the pros and cons of using headphones or speakers. The more sophisticated altered state inducing sounds are optimised for ‘surround sound’ which means you can play them on speakers, and the sound will have the same effect as when used with headphones. Other side effects of altered state meditation are discussed, including how the flesh of your body hangs differently during meditation. This can cause some temporary aches and pains, because when your physical body is asleep and you are sitting upright, the flesh of your body hangs differently. A little time is needed, a few weeks or so, for your tendons and ligaments to stretch to allow this to happen with no discomfort. The subject of ‘slight discomfort’ is discussed here, and how this extremely valuable side effect will be used to help keep you focused during altered states of consciousness, and meditation. It is common to fall asleep during any exercise involving deep relaxation. For
example, you start a one hour session with plans, but fall asleep after five minutes. You then return to consciousness a few minutes before the end. So you lose the value of fifty minutes of experience. Including some ‘slight discomfort’ can help avoid this. For example, sitting in a straight-backed chair with no head support provides a level of slight discomfort that will help keep you focused. And, if you are using a bed, placing a small wooden board under your heels will provide enough slight discomfort to keep you awake during your practices. A Framework of Understanding for Kundalini: Raising Kundalini, as you will discover, is possible for ‘normal’ people if you develop and practice the necessary skills by forming good practice habits. This is obviously not something that can be done in a weekend, although a small percentage of people will experience early signs of Kundalini, and even raise Kundalini in a very short time. I have known people in my live workshops to go from nothing, with zero experience at any kind of spiritual development work, not even meditation, to succeed in raising Kundalini in only a few days. But this is the exception rather than the rule. The main Raising Kundalini program begins with an explanation of just exactly what the Kundalini phenomenon is, and what it is not. The Western world is full of urban myths and legends concerning Kundalini. Discussing this area can become more of an exercise in spiritual poetry and Eastern mythology than anything based in reality. What is Kundalini? Kundalini is an evolutionary mechanism that is built into the energy body of every human being. This typically lies dormant until triggered by intense energy. This intensity can come from intense intellectual work (as happened to Karl Jung, the famous transpersonal psychologist) or intense devotion (as happened to Gopi Krisha, author of Awakening Kundalini ) or through energy work. David Ike, the famous Internet personality that focuses on global and historical conspiracies, also, in my opinion, experienced spontaneously raised Kundalini. I say this because if you hear his story of what happened to him and why he does what he does, it is obvious that he experienced a spontaneous Kundalini awakening. Unfortunately, without Body Awareness Tactile Imaging techniques, it is extraordinarily difficult to manually activate Chakras enough to cause Kundalini to rise. Raised Kundalini opens the doors to a whole new level of consciousness and psycho-spiritual development. Egyptology Links The links between Kundalini and Egyptology are obvious when you look at the information and compare them with actual Kundalini raising experience. While there is little by way of historical record available, symbology relating to Kundalini permeates ancient Egyptian art and sculpture and artefacts. For example, the giant Sphinx statue that stands near the great pyramids of Giza used to have a cobra protruding from its forehead. Many other statues of this time period have the same cobra rising from the forehead area. The Uraeus headpiece is another link. This artefact is a golden headpiece with a cobra rising from the forehead when worn.
Given my extensive personal experience with Kundalini, it became obvious to me many years ago that the ancient Egyptians knew a whole lot about Kundalini, astral projection, and metaphysics in general. This makes sense if you look at what Kundalini can do when raised. Kundalini releases genius, along with a host of psychic abilities. I am sure that raised Kundalini would be most valuable to a great leader, as it would be to scientists and artists and musicians and scholars across the board. There is also the immortality option to consider, which aligns closely with ancient Egyptian beliefs. The pyramids were said to be constructed as tombs (or palaces) for their immortal leaders. Breathing Techniques You will notice in my work that I do not teach Yoga type breathing techniques. This is not because such techniques are not powerful and well worth exploring. Most Western people, I have found, are adverse to this type of technique. The exceptions being people like Cameron, see the interview with him, where he developed his own style of breathing practice and got great results, including raised Kundalini. As for myself, I like to keep things simple, but I have dabbled in breathing techniques, but do not at present include them in my regular practice. This may change. However, looking back at my life and where I came from, it is possible that breathing may have played a part. I have always loved water, since that first day when I was three years old when my father took me to a big swimming pool. I walked up to the deep end and dived in, and happily played on the bottom for a few minutes before my frantic father found me and dragged me out. I have always been a keen swimmer and diver, mainly deep snorkelling. Since the age of 12 I went diving a few days per week, and most weekends. I took my diving very seriously. I would often dive down to eighty-feet (25 meters) or more. In my early teens I studied diving and taught myself how to hyperventilate before each dive, and also how to move in slow motion while underwater to conserve oxygen. I could swim underwater two lengths of an Olympic swimming pool in this way. I go into a fairly deep altered state of consciousness when I dive like this, and my heart slows down noticeably. It is quite possible that all this rapid and deep hyperventilation breathing, plus holding my breath for several minutes at a time repeatedly, contributed to my energy body development from an earlier age than I originally thought. Another possible contributor to me being me is that at the age of 19 my nose was broken quite badly. It did not heal right and my right nostril is far more open than my left, meaning that when I breathe in most of the air comes in through my right nostril. This would definitely affect my energies. Kundalini Awakening versus Deliberate Kundalini Raising There is a big difference between Kundalini awakening and Kundalini raising. Everyone that experiences a major spiritual awakening can be said to have awakened a level of Kundalini. But this does not mean that such people have actually raised Kundalini. Spontaneous Kundalini awakening, and Kundalini rising, is also different from actually manually raising Kundalini intentionally, especially when this is done multiple times. When Kundalini awakens spontaneously it begins the process of transforming the body and mind, and especially the energy body and its Chakras, to higher levels of expression…to a
higher vibration, if you like. This opens the way to a whole new level of consciousness, and to a whole new level of energy work and spiritual development and perception. However, when this process happens naturally and spontaneously, the higher reaches of Kundalini consciousness is rarely suspected and even more rarely achieved. Kundalini can be a rocky road for some people, as a part of developing Kundalini involves developing and maturing the personality, and unloading and processing any motional baggage and trauma from the past. The term ‘Kundalini Psychosis’ was coined long ago to account for this phenomenon. As many people become quite unhinged during this transformation. And passing through the tests and trials involved with Kundalini is never a given. This is not helped by our lack of actual knowledge concerning the Kundalini phenomenon. Kundalini is not a one off event Raised Kundalini is not, as is commonly believed, a one off event. Once Kundalini has been raised to its full, this opens up a whole new level of energy work and psycho-spiritual development. Kundalini can be raised many times. This can become a regular practice. When I first raised Kundalini, over twenty-five years ago, I did not know this. So I did it again a week later, and then again and again, and again. And every time I raised Kundalini it was a little different. It evolved and the experience became more profound. Other phenomena were added to what I was experiencing, and new doors opened at every turn. It is commonly believed in the traditions that once the central channel of the human energy body is opened, this is permanent. This is true, but let’s not then leap to the conclusion that this means that a person with an open central channel is now enlightened and the finished product. This is simply not true. This shows just how easy it is to make mistakes through assumptions, and then to propagate those mistakes down through the generations. Personal experience is needed. The extreme secrecy surrounding real knowledge about Kundalini raising and how to do it is understandable. Knowledge is power and wealth. And the traditions like to keep a tight hold of this information. Traditionally, it is only passed on orally from master to student, when that student is ready. Among the traditions where there are masters that do have more knowledge about Kundalini, there is also a strong belief that, if they share information too freely, someone might get hurt by misusing it. And that then this would incur them a negative Karma backlash. They are also made to swear, often on pain of death, never to reveal the secrets of their traditions, especially to outsiders. Fortunately, I am not bound by any vow of secrecy, as I discovered what I know under my own steam. So in this sense, I am free to share what I have learned with anyone . Grounded East versus Ungrounded West There is a hidden flaw in the Western approach to energy work and spiritual development, particularly concerning any type of energy work involving Chakra stimulation. This is, that the techniques and methodologies we use today come, by and large, from the East. And the information underlying this is often many thousands of years old. The issue here is that these things were developed by a heavily grounded, largely agricultural, culture. These people had very little mental stimulation. There were very few books, and no TV’s and computers and music and high-speed communications. Life moved at a much slower and more grounded pace
than it does today in the Western world. Because of this, more emphasis was placed on stimulating the higher Chakras, especially the brow Chakra, The Third Eye as it is often called. This approached was wise in those circumstances, as people needed more stimulation in the higher Chakras to provide balance and increased activity in the Chakra system. Today in the Western world, however, we typically live a fast-paced life with a veritable onslaught of mental stimulation. We have TV’s and computers and music and high-speed communications, all day and every day for most people. This activity is very ungrounding in general. People in the West live largely in their heads. In this scenario, the lower Chakras are under-stimulated. This causes imbalance, particularly when the higher Chakras are stimulated much more than the lower Chakras. I am sure you can see what I am getting at here. All modern methods of energy work in the Western world target the higher Chakras first and foremost. This causes many problems for students as they regularly carry out energy work that is potentially promoting Chakra imbalance. The Chakras affect the personality considerably, and so when you unbalance the Chakra system you will generate imbalance in the personality. At severe levels this can lead to mental disturbances and psychological problems, up to and including what is called Kundalini Psychosis. A host of physical disorders can also accompany Chakra imbalance issues, ranging from minor to major health problems. I recognized this issue after I first raised my Kundalini, because my own Chakra system became unbalanced. I found I had to do more work on my lower Chakras and less on the higher Chakras, and that I needed to spend more time on grounding practices and activities. To develop the Chakra system and approach Kundalini you need, more than anything else, balance and elemental equilibrium. It is therefore wise to consider this and to manage your energy work accordingly. Finding a Qualified Teacher You won’t find one in the Yellow Pages. It is very difficult to find a teacher in the Western world that is experientially qualified to teach others to raise Kundalini . To teach Kundalini raising, in my opinion, it is essential to know Kundalini experientially. I am sure that in the East there are living masters with this knowledge and experience. Over the years, I have found some Western authors and teachers in my travels that write about Kundalini, or teach Kundalini raising, but it did not take long before their lack of actual experience became apparent. This did not make me any friends, even though I am always polite and it is not my habit to tell the Emperor that he is wearing no clothes. I expect that there are some genuine teachers out there in the Western world with actual Kundalini raising experience. I always hope to exchange information, but that has not happened as yet . Kundalini development Kundalini development, before and after raising Kundalini, as said, does not end with the main event. Raising Kundalini, in a spiritual development sense, can be likened to learning your ABC’s. This opens the door to learning and using written language. In the fullness of time, this can lead to developing independent consciousness, independent from the collective that is. In this way, a Kundalini adept can maintain a single consciousness intact for more than a single lifetime. Secrecy and Social Considerations
It is important to consider the social implications surrounding Kundalini. It is widely misunderstood. And apart from the usual misconceptions, it can attract significant judgement critique from others that are not spiritually open-minded. It is for this reason that Kundalini aspirations and development work be kept private and not shared with anyone that is not open to such things. Another aspect of this issue is ego competiveness, in that many people will feel threatened and ‘lessened’ if you tell them of your successes concerning Kundalini . It is also wise to consider how your Kundalini development work may affect others around you. The energies generated by people affect them and all those around them. In this way, some people are good for your health and some are bad for your health. When you start raising serious amounts of energy, along with Chakra activations and Kundalini energies, these stronger energies will impact all those around you. This includes people and children and animals. The tuning fork analogy is probably the best way to describe this. If you take two tuning forks and hold them side by side, then strike one of them so it hums, it will not be long before the other begins to vibrate in harmony. Adults can be uplifted if they are exposed to strong energies that they are capable of resonating with, or they can be made to feel bad if they are not capable of resonating. Children generally are uplifted and their development enhanced by being in the presence of strong positive Chakra energies. Animals will tend to evolve to levels of consciousness beyond that of their specie. The main point here is to be aware that when you approach Kundalini, you are doing something considered to be very strange to most people. Also consider how your energies may affect those around you, and take steps to rectify this if you see this is causing problems. Your beliefs and spiritual practices are private and as such you should keep them secret from anyone that is not spiritually open-minded enough to accept. This is sage advice and you can save yourself from creating enormous social problems by adhering to this . This does not mean that you cannot share your beliefs and endeavours with others. Just be very selective whom you share your innermost secrets.
Trials and initiations During Kundalini training and development, you will pass many hurdles and milestones. Sometimes, when you achieve particular energy levels or pass certain tests, you will trigger Initiation type experiences and tests. This can involve spirits of high degree, spirit masters, and even angels. Some of the Initiation experiences can be uplifting and contain major wowness factors. Other types of Initiations can be quite frightening. You have to read between the lines and intuitively understand these events. Some frightening events can be tests of courage and fortitude. Some can be moral and ethical tests. These tests and trails can involve real life events, or they can involve visions and out of body experience or dream tests. The more important ones can involve the full manifestation of higher world beings. Manifestation Principles
Manifestation is the popular name for utilizing The Law of Attraction. This, like many things in the modern world, is poorly understood. I mean, if you watch the excellent DVD called ‘The Secret’ you will get the impression that through affirmations and expressions of intention, subtle energy waves are mysteriously projected from you to magnetically attract whatever it is that you are trying to manifest into your life. This is a fair analogy, but if you understand things better you can use them better and be more successful. Manifestation works through your higher self. Through your higher self, you are connected to everyone and everything in the universe. Affirmations work by convincing your higher self to attract and manifest things. Thoughts become things. This is a sound metaphysical principle. So when you are working on manifesting a new car, or using manifestation to repair an old one, everything happens through your higher self. The world you live in is your reality. And everything around you is a metaphorical representation of your reality. If your beliefs are open to the greater spiritual reality, which must be through personal experience, your outer reality becomes something of a communication device. For it is through the world around you that your higher self will communicate. This communication is always happening and has always been happening. Everything you need or want to know is being shouted at you from every blade of grass and every passing bird. Shamanistic nature of reality Have you ever wondered why shamans actively look for signs and omens? This is because shamans understand one of the great unguarded secrets of the universe…the nature of the greater reality and how it communicates with us constantly. And you don’t have to become a shaman or do anything special for this to happen. It is always happening. But you don’t know how to see and hear and feel it. It takes a big step along the belief system trail to do this. You have to let go of your common sense grip on reality and allow yourself to fly. This sounds delusional to the modern, rational Western mind, but it is the most profound thing you could ever do, to take a step or two outside of normal reality. Just outside normal reality, hiding in plain sight all the time, is the metaphor of your life. It is always there and it changes constantly according to real life events and your thoughts and intentions, needs and wants. I learned this the hard way, while dying of thirst in the desert wilderness. Then, at the last moment, I learned how to see what was all around me. And I mean how to really see things. With a little help from the masters, I was guided to water and obviously survived. This was like a great teacher showing me my ABC’s. And after this I learned how to read and write, one word at a time. It has been a fabulous journey and, looking back, I would not change a thing. Manifestation, signs and omens, are connected. These phenomena operate under the principles of Attraction and Repulsion. This also applies to spiritual development, including the specific development of psychic abilities, and raising Kundalini Affirmations are THE most powerful tool we have with which to affect and change reality. You will hear about affirmations often if you associate with spiritually-minded people. So often, in fact, that it becomes a blur. And the majority of people just do not understand how powerful affirmations can be. Again, affirmations are THE most powerful tool with which we have to affect and change reality. If you understand and master affirmations, you have the secret keys to manifestation and the Godlike powers that accompany this.
Most people think that affirmations are a psychological tool, a bit like self-hypnosis, that can affect the subconscious mind. This is partly true, but affirmations are far more than that. Affirmations allow you to communicate with your higher self. This could also be called communicating with the divine, with God, with your spirit guides, with your guardian angel. It does not matter what this is called, and it certainly does not care what you call it. It just is. Have you ever wondered HOW The Law of Attraction works? If you watch documentaries like ‘The Secret’ you’ll get the impression that some kind of mysterious magnetic waves spread out through the world if you express your intention and desire strongly enough. As analogy this is accurate enough, but how does it actually work? It works directly through your higher self. Your higher self is a Godlike being and it is connected very strongly to everything and everyone in the world. So when you express your intentions clearly, your higher self gets to work manifesting your stated desires. There is a formula involved. Your intention and level of desire are A. Your level of personal experience and belief in the manifestation process are B. Your internal resistance to change and your disbelief are C. The disbelief and contrary beliefs and intentions of others is expressed as D.
So the formula is A+B minus C+D = X with X being the outcome If A+B is stronger and more enduring than C+D then outcome X will appear. If C+D is stronger and more enduring than A+B then outcome X will not appear. To overcome this formula is extremely difficult for most people, because they lack the ounce of personal experience that makes manifestation real. They try to make up for it with repetitions and attempts to immerse themselves for a time in the process. Most think it is a waste of time and delusional thinking. It is almost as if they are afraid to hope and dream. And in fact this is exactly the problem. Modern life has programmed the world to think like this. To keep both feet firmly planted in the ground and accept what is. To hope and dream is something only accepted in children and writers of fiction. Modern humanity has adopted a Newtonian mechanistic world view. As a spiritually-minded person, do you see something wrong here? If you do not hold to your hopes and dreams, then what hope is there for positive change? Ideally, affirmations should be expressed both silently and aloud. Silently when in company or while meditating in altered states, or before sleep, and aloud when you are alone. For all that, most people will have some success at manifestation if they stick to it for long enough to get results. I have seen this time and time again, plus my own experience with this phenomena. You work hard with affirmations and expressions of intention for weeks, and then get out of the habit and let it slide into the background all but forgotten. And then, a year or two later, outcome X appears. But even success like this is difficult for most to accept. It’s just a coincidence. All the negative programming comes up along with internal resistance to accepting outcome X as evidence and personal experience. Because this would prove, at least in part, that manifestation works. But this is disturbing and would shake the foundations of reality. Better to just keep doing what one has been programmed to do. Repetitions and stick-to-it-ness and effort can greatly speed the process of manifestation. You have to walk the talk like you believe it until you believe it experientially.
Affirmations and the manifestation process can be used for anything and everything, from healing and self-healing, to manifesting wealth, success, property, things, dates, life partners, jobs, anything. You can also use them to manifest psychic abilities, and for developing Kundlini. Kundalini Psychosis and Schizophrenia There is such a thing called Kundalini psychosis. This is the result of triggering a Kundalini awakening where there exists an unbalanced state of mind and emotions, and conflicts in the belief system. When this happens, it can be a rocky road indeed and the main focus is on grounding and stopping the onslaught of psychic and telepathic and empathic impression. Any pre-existing psychological and mental conditions, and emotional trauma residue, will be brought to the surface in full force to be dealt with. This state of affairs is often triggered by meditation and learning how to enter altered states of consciousness. I have found it impossible to predict exactly what will happen to any individual that is starting out fresh with spiritual development work. If, for example, students have never done meditation or energy work of any kind, there is nothing to indicate whether or not they might trigger some kind of spiritual awakening that may involve Kundalini . Sometimes, when it happens, the awakening occurs very quickly. I have had several people at my live workshops experience this kind of rapid awakening, often with zero prior experience, within a day or two of beginning to learn the basics. Fortunately, all such cases have not resulted in Kundalini psychosis, or any adverse conditions. This is a case for the Golden Rule to be considered first and foremost. So if you begin meditation and energy work and other exercises like those given in this program, please stop and take a break if things heat up and you start to get major sensations. Taking a break like this will help to give your body and mind time to adjust, and this will make your transition into having awakened Kundalini more gentle. Urban myth warnings discussed There are many urban myths and legends floating around in the world that are just that, myths and legends. These are not based on personal experience and reality. The most common of these is that Kundalini will generate Werewolf level sexual urges and cravings. There is a little smoke here, but in my decades of working in this field I have only encountered two people that have had heightened sexual urges resulting from spiritual awakening involving Kundalini. And in both cases, there were serious pre-existing psychological issues, including full blown schizophrenia in one case. Kundalini will in some cases cause increased sexual urges, but this is nothing that the golden rule, plus normal life and grounding practices cannot cope with. For example, relieving the sexual tension in some way will help, as will eating a heavy protein meal, a glass of red wine, etc. If all fails, heavy physical exercise to the point of exhaustion will completely shut this down. Again, this is not something to be overly concerned about. It is extremely rare and nothing that common sense cannot handle. Other urban myths involve Kundalini attracting psychic attack. Again, there is only a little smoke here. Fully raised Kundalini, the full serpent, will greatly reduce natural psychic shielding. This is why psychically sensitive people that experience spontaneous Kundalini raising find they have an onslaught of psychic, telepathic, and empathic impressions to deal with. When natural
shielding is reduced, the Chakras will tend to be more active and so will any pre-existing psychic abilities. I have seen this happen, but in all cases there have been pre-existing conditions involved. Again, this is something that can be addressed by the golden rule, and by common sense grounding measures. And this level of psychic awakening of the Chakras is not overly common, so again this is not something to be overly concerned about. It is commonly believed that Kundalini is a one-off event and that when you get a Kundalini spike, along with a brilliant mind’s eye flash of light, that you now have raised Kundalini and are therefore ‘enlightened’ and the finished product. No, you are not. Kundalini is the first step into a higher level of consciousness, and this is a very big event. It opens the way to a whole new level of psycho-spiritual development. Kundalini has become something of the big New Age pet. Everyone wants this badge to wear on their chests, next to the ‘spiritual awareness’ badge and other such labels. I have found this very difficult to discuss in public because people throw a hundred different sensations and scenarios at me and demand that their set of experiences means that they have raised Kundalini and are now therefore enlightened. This includes people that have dreams about snakes and put 2 and 2 together and come up with 99. My message here concerning Kundalini is that ‘I do not know’ anything beyond my personal experience and logic. And I teach what I know here in this program. This is why it is experience based and practical, because that is all I know. Anything else is speculation, and if I speculate I state that I am speculating clearly. I advise you to do the same and to put any speculative worries out of your mind and have a little faith that your higher self will look after you. Kundalini has an intelligence to it, and this flows from your Higher Self. Some people that awaken or raise Kundalini can be in for a difficult time of things. When this happens, you are being tested and given a short course in higher spiritual development. Sometimes this is not easy. It is like when you first start working out or jogging or similar. It can be brutal. The first day is a real killer and at the end of it you will be exhausted and have a lot of sore muscles. But if you continue this regimen and use a little common sense, after a few weeks you will be handling the new workload well. KUNDALINI and body building analogy An analogy I often use when discussing the road to Kundalini relates to the Golden Rule I keep talking about. (And yes, you will hear more on this as we continue…it is that important.) The body building process involves working out muscles in your body until they are completely exhausted and strained in one session. Then you take several days off and let them heal. The body repairs the damage and grows more muscle tissue to compensate for the greater load being placed on them. Through following this process repeatedly, enormous muscles can be grown. This is very much like the process of approaching Kundalini and the training involved. The physical body is intelligent and responds to your needs and whatever demands you are placing upon it, be this physical or mental or emotional. If you study hard, it can be very difficult at the state to retain anything you read. But with practice and repetition, your recall and processing abilities will steadily improve. The brain is like a muscle and will respond in a similar way as muscles do when stressed repeatedly. Another comparison is the skin’s ability to for
callouses. If you do a repeated action that rubs your skin raw, your body will respond by generating thicker skin in that area. Super Strength The higher self is active in your body and mind on all levels, from the cells of your body to your higher mind. It totally permeates your being. And it is extensively involved with spiritual development, which can be said to encourage a stronger integration of consciousness on all levels. Your higher self holds all the keys and controls everything. It has Godlike powers, though it will rarely use them, and it certainly will not demonstrate them lightly. Little is known about the superhuman abilities that humans will sometimes manifest. For example, in a life or death situation you can develop superhuman strength for a short time. You hear legends about small women lifting a motor vehicle or truck off of their child.
These legends are true. I experienced this once myself. And I’m glad I did , because this brought this area of speculation into my realm of personal experience. Many years ago, I was visiting friends on board a large trawler fishing boat. This was a ship, not a boat. We had a few beers and then the captain wanted to give me some fish to take home with me, so I followed him to the ship’s freezer hold. He climbed down a ladder and I went to follow, casually hopping onto the ladder, which promptly flew out from under me. I did not know that the light aluminium ladder was not attached to the side of the hold. About thirty-feet below me, a steel deck and either death or a mangled wreck of a body awaited me. In a heartbeat, as I fell, I grabbed the edge of the hatch and hung there by my left hand. I was amazed I was still alive. I was a bit overweight at the time, about 200lbs (100kilo) and not particularly fit. I am also right handed. It took close to ten minutes before the captain fixed the ladder, which had fallen apart in the fall, and put it back into place so I could climb down. The thing that amazed me the most at the time was how effortless it was to just hang there. I felt no weight or strain at all and my arm did not tire in the slightest during this time. It was also winter and I as wearing heavy clothing, boots, and a heavy coat. I had half a can of beer in my left hand at the moment I fell. I did not lose it. In fact, I felt so confident of my safety that I finished my beer and slipped the empty can into my coat pocket, and then smoked a small cigar while I waited for the ladder to arrive. I knew I did not need to hold on with both hands. The thought did occur to me that I could, with this super strength, easily pull myself out using both hands. But the captain was a very nice man and I did not want to disappoint him and deny him the opportunity to save the day. The next day, pondering this experience, I tried several times to support my weight with one hand, left or right, hanging from a tree branch of a similar diameter as she side of the ship’s hold, and I could not do it for more than five seconds, and this strained the muscles in my fingers, hand and arm, and shoulder. Try this for yourself. Unless you are quite fit, this is not an easy thing to do, especially if you are a little overweight . (If you want to explore your higher self connection further, you might want to take a look at one of our other programs, called Manifestation and Self-Healing, where I discuss this subject at great length.) Practice makes perfect - Forming good habits
Some of the training and requirements for raising Kundalini may seem difficult at first glance, but this is much like taking up any new sport. If you take up squash, for example, at the start you will be all thumbs and your coordination will not be up to the new tasks placed upon it. And after your first few games you’ll feel like you’ve been run over with a truck. But you see other people playing and enjoying it, so you stick it out until you master the game. Then you get into your groove and start enjoying yourself. It’s much the same with Kundalini work. You need to learn a set of skills and practices, and some of them will be very new to you. But everything is doable if you take it one step at a time and form good habits to help you. Building long session stamina Long session work is something you may not have come across before now. What this entails is to extend the length of your meditation and energy work sessions progressively. Most people limit their meditation and other practices to thirty or sixty minute sessions. But to approach the higher levels of consciousness and Chakra activation, you need more. First off, something magical happens during altered state mediation after the ninety-minute mark. There is at this time a profound shift in consciousness, and if you are aware at the time you will feel this happen. There is a direct relationship between this ninety-minute shift and what happens during sleep cycles. A sleep cycle is also about ninety-minutes in length, and in this time you go through a whole range of consciousness levels, from light sleep to medium sleep and dream cycles, to dreamless deep sleep. My first successful Kundalini raising session, and I succeeded at the first attempt, took over four hours. I had set by a six-hour period when I would not be disturbed, and had prepared myself for the three-days prior with fasting and inner cleansing practices. At the time I was running on instinct, but it worked. I have learned a lot since this time and perfected my energy work methods, so things more a lot more quickly these days. But I am still looking at around two hours to hit pay dirt during a Kundalini raising session. Apart from physical adjustments during long session work, which will be addressed later in this manual, the biggest battle is mental. I call this ‘the boredom barrier’. It is every bit like the sound barrier for meditation. This will appear early during meditation when you are a novice, sometimes after only thirty-minutes or so. When this happens, every cell of your body will scream to stop all this ‘doing nothing’ and to get up and ‘do something’, anything but all this sitting still and doing nothing. At this time you would rather be doing the dishes and housework or gardening or taking the trash out. The secret to getting past the boredom barrier is to persevere and build your tolerance gradually through regular practice, by building healthy meditation habits to help you. You will also find this mental battle to be similar to the mental battle you will experience during dietary restriction practices, like juice feasting or fasting on water only. These types of practices are 1% physical and 99% mental. For example, if you juice feast or water fast, on or after the third day hunger is not an issue. You will not feel hungry at all, especially on a water fast where your digestive system completely shuts down. But the mental battle can be quite brutal. Your ego body mind will be revealed and it will confront you at every turn and use every trick it has to get you to eat. We’ll get more into fasting and juice feasting later, but for now I wanted to highlight the similarities with the boredom barrier and how this brings you into direct contact, and conflict, with your ego body mind. Some of the trick that work during fasting also work to extend the boredom barrier. For example, lying to your ego body mind. The pressure will mount to break
your state and when it gets bad, agree with your inner urges. Say something like “okay, you will, I’ll stop this foolishness and go and watch TV and have a snack. I’ll just give it another five minutes and then I’ll quit.” Try your best to sound and feel like you really mean it. You’ll find the pressure will ease after you do this. Then, continue with your practice for as long as you planned. The ego body mind may reappear fifteen-minutes later and nag you, and if it does just do the same thing again. Its not that smart. Kundalini and Genius The most interesting and valuable aspect of raising Kundalini is the evolution of consciousness. When this happens, it can aptly be called ‘genius’. Depending on how your Chakras and personality are wired (everyone is a little different), this will stimulate your natural talents according to your interests and existing abilities. If, for example, you are keen on art and love to sketch and paint and sculpt, you will find a sudden increase in your artistic abilities. If you are a musician, you’ll find your musical abilities will increase. These increases can be sudden and dramatic. The same thing can happen with psychic and empathic abilities, if you are wired this way. This can also apply to intellectual abilities like science and medicine. In this case, you will receive downloads of genius level ideas. It helps if your belief systems are clear, and if you follow scientific method and have embraced ‘open-minded scepticism’ as any good scientist must, you will find that your inner genius will begin working with you at a high level. Changing the world one snake at a time Decades ago, in my early twenties, I started looking at the world with new eyes. I saw the unreality of what is called ‘normal’ life, and how the human race is not that dissimilar to a bee colony or ant hive. Humanity is a very complex and sophisticated hive, but there are similarities. I have pondered the question of how best to help humanity and how to help make our world a better place. But I could not see how one man could make a difference. Then it came to me, post Kundalini. The more people with raised Kundalini, the higher will be the vibrations of our world. If I could teach thousands of people to raise Kundalini, then this will make a massive difference. Reality would then’ shift’ and the world will just become a better place. Insolvable problems will become workable, and impassable differences will suddenly not be so solid. A person with raised Kundalini puts out a huge spiritual energy signature, compared to normal human beings. If that person develops Kundalini to higher levels, this signature becomes truly massive. That is my plan and hopefully this program is a good start. Changing the world one snake at a time.
Kundalini Raising is Reasonably Safe For all the urban myths and legends, Raising Kundalini is reasonably safe if you go about it in the right way and use a bit of common sense along the way. Nothing is completely save, not even crossing the road or checking your mailbox. Accidents do happen. And sometimes people will not listen to sensible advice. For example, many years ago I posted an article on my website giving some energy work techniques, and detailing some experiments I had done. This involved filling the sub-navel energy storage center, and avoiding moving energy
into the sub-heart and sub-brow centers. I put a caution at the bottom, warning people of the adverse side effects this can cause. I got an email a week later from a young man who had done exactly the opposite from what I had suggested in the article. He had worked very hard at filling his sub-heart and subbrow, just to see if anything cool would happen. He was most annoyed when nothing bad happened. Now, this young man was lucky he did not destabilize his Chakra system, as probably 75% of my test group did experience problems. And further tests showed these adverse effects to be predictable, re my caution. This was a duty of care caution and, luckily, it did not affect him. My point here is that there are many people like this that will do things in a contrary fashion just to see what will happen. (I’m sure we have all known teenagers.) Fortunately, the Kundalini work is a little too demanding for the average teenager, though there will be exceptions of course. As a teacher I have to try to account for this, but there is no way to do this concerning raising Kundalini practices. So I will just cross my fingers and hope for the best here. The golden rule is a very robust protocol, for all its simplicity, and I am sure that if all the advice given here in this program is followed, even if mistakes are made, everything will turn out okay. I have made just about every mistake it is possible to make concerning my own path through the valley of Kundalini. I lived and eventually thrived, although there were definitely some rocky patches. This more than anything else has prepared me to teach these things. I have made the big mistakes and survived and learned from them. So when I give some advice or cautions, it is wise to listen. Perfection is not required Another urban myth is that in order to raise Kundalini, people have to be perfect. Celibate, perfect health, no addictions, perfect mind, perfect life, perfect morals and ethics, and no quirky bits, to become a super being. If you believe this, then those capable of successfully raising Kundalini would likely be one in a billion. You do not have to be perfect to raise Kundalini. I am not a perfect man. And many people I have helped to raise Kundalini have not been perfect either. I do not know anyone that is perfect. And if I did meet someone that claimed to be perfect, it would become immediately obvious that they had serious problems…all joking aside. In fact, the most purfect being I know is my cat, Merlin…and he has some serious issues. When I first raised Kundalini, I was married with five children, some of them babies. So I was obviously not celibate. I smoked a pipe, tobacco, and I enjoyed a few beers. I lived a fairly regular life in most respects. I did not have perfect health. I had some serious spinal injuries and other things. I do not exercise regularly, nothing beyond walking my dog and a bit of gardening and etc. I also do not do Yoga and am no expert on Yoga type breathing practices. I was, however, a vegetarian and this I consider necessary for raising Kundalini. Eating meat lowers your vibrations and causes a lot of inner cleansing and detoxing issues with Kundalini practices. It may be possible to work around this by using extra purgatives and enemas for inner cleansing, prior to Kundalini raising attempts, but I think this is unlikely given how you need every ounce of high-level energy your body can produce.
It is much easier to inner cleanse a vegetarian body than it is a meat eater body. And the detox period during the first couple of days fasting may also cause problems, considering that three days fasting on water, plus some purgatives and enemas are recommended prior to a Kundalini raising session. It sounds a bit gross, but cleaning out the digestive system is a must for Kundalini. For all this, I am not completely sure if being vegetarian is totally necessary. It was for me. But I have known people with very sensitive energy bodies that have not been vegetarian and successfully raised Kundalini during my live workshops. So here I think it is a matter of how sensitive your Kundalini is and how much preparation and work you will need to do in order to activate it. Some people have very sensitive Chakras, and other people are not so sensitive. It makes sense that people with less sensitive Chakras and various energy blockages and problems (the average person) will need to stack the deck in their favour as much as possible in order to raise Kundalini. Is Kundalini a quick fix? No. Another urban myth is that raising Kundalini will fix all your problems and elevate you to virtual Godhood. This is just not true. As I have said, people with pre-existing psychological, emotional, or mental problems, and trauma baggage, will generally have a tough time if they succeed at raising Kundalini. Here, Kundalini psychosis is a predictable high risk. Psychological Problems – Drugs – Get Help first. I have known people that were very unstable in many ways, but highly experienced at Yoga. They have believed that if they can just crack the big spiritual awakening of Kundalini, all their inner problems will go away. In cases I have observed where such people get even close to Kundalini, their problems have always become far worse. It is wise, if you have inner problems, to seek help and to do everything possible to heal yourself ‘before’ attempting to raise Kundalini. Take personal responsibility for your life and your health and go from there. Do your own research, get some gifted therapy, and find a cure. A cure is possible no matter what the trauma or psychological damage that might be carried. There is an old Buddhist saying that applies here
“Happiness does not depend on who you are or what you think. It depends solely on what you think.”
This is a great truth. Think differently and you will be different. And no matter what your health problem, be it physical or mental or emotional, again, take responsibility for this and find a cure. You may think there is no cure, but you will be amazed just what is possible. For example, fasting on water is known as ‘The Great Cure’ and it will cure just about anything. I know people with serious heart disease and schizophrenia and diabetes and even cancer, that have cured themselves in this way.
Your body has an amazing self-healing and self-repair facility. Given the right conditions, it is capable of healing itself from just about anything. For example, during a month long fast on water, your body will first digest all dead and diseased tissue, including tumours. It will also digest plaque that may be blocking arteries and veins. The only limits your physical body has are those imposed upon it through your beliefs.
Why Kundalini Causes Problems to Surface When Kundalini is activated, it will tend to throw any emotional and psychological issues, including past trauma and forgotten memories, up for immediate attention. The reason for this is that these things are rooted into thought forms that exist within the body and mind. They have a physical placement in the physical body. This is why, if you are having body work and are touched in a certain place, you will get emotional upsurges and releases. Ask anybody worker or acupuncturist and you’ll find this is quite well known in those fields. Body Awareness Tactile Imaging actions can also cause these same releases. The reason these things are released all at once is that when Kundalini is awakened, and especially if it is raised, a great deal of psycho-spiritual energy is released into the energy body field. This energy has an enormous impact upon any buried thought forms related issues. These are energized en mass and they then spring to life in full force. This is why it is wise to do your best to deal with such things before they are energized like this. That way you can handle them one at a time at your own pace. Finally, there is another aspect to consider here. Some people, no matter how much therapy they get and how hard they try, are unsuccessful at dealing with their issues. In this case, extreme increases in energy body and Chakra activity can unearth long-buried problems and the forgotten memories that are related to them. So in this sense, raising Kundalini can be therapeutic. While we are on this subject, another approach to psycho-spiritual therapy is Core Image Work. This is a totally new approach and it is very effective at unearthing buried issues and memories, including actual real life memories, as well as false memories and issues that have no substance in real life. You will find this protocol in my book, The Practical Psychic SelfDefense Handbook. This book is essential reading for advanced psycho-spiritual development. Raise Kundalini and a new level of appears As I have said, when you succeed at raising Kundalini, you are not done yet. This is just the start. Continue raising Kundalini, a week or a month or so between events, and you will find that this state of being will evolve. What happens when you raise Kundalini, and how it happens, varies from person to person. It depends on how your Chakras and your personality are wired. Everyone is a little different. Because of this, Kundalini may raise in full, as happened to me, with the full serpent to the brow in one session. It may also raise one Chakra at a time, and not always in order. It can also activate Chakras in groups. If your Kundalini does not provide the full serpent phenomenon, then your partial Kundalini raising will give you something to work with. The nature of the inactive or blocked Chakras will indicate what type of psychological work needs to be done. Or, if your Chakras activate in order and get stopped at a Chakra and it becomes too difficult and distressing or painful to continue, the blocked Chakra becomes apparent. If, for example, you get blocked at
the Solar Plexus Chakra, then you have self-esteem and personal power issues to resolve before you can continue. There is a direct relationship between Chakras and personality traits, strengths and weaknesses. If you are blocked at the heart Chakra, this indicates emotional and relationship issues, including self love and relationships with others. If you are blocked at the throat Chakra, this indicates communicate issues. Try not to overcomplicate things when you are dealing with a blocked Chakra. A simple and common sense approach works best, and this will reveal more sophisticated issues that might exist. Taking a break when needed Relating to the golden rule, it is important to take a break from spiritual development and energy work and Kundalini raising attempts when you need them. Remember the body building analogy? Give yourself time to heal and adapt and grow when this is needed. Many people today live on a schedule and try to apply this to their spiritual activities. You’re your limits. While keeping a regular schedule for meditation and energy work and other such disciplines is very helpful, you need to know when to take a break. Raising Kundalini needs to be done right and not rushed. This is a lifetime’s work and not something to be hurried. I am a sprinter in this sense. I throw myself into a project like a bull at a gate. Then, later, I’ll take a break and be lazy and play games and watch movies and sleep in. Then I’ll get the urge to go for it again, and so on. I am ruled by inspiration and energy. If the energy is not there, I have no drive and cannot accomplish anything. But when the energy is there, I can move mountains. Don’t get me wrong here… there are times when you really need to push yourself and flog yourself with a whip to get anything done. So please don’t let this discussion provide you with excuses to be lazy. For example, if I have been out of fasting practice for some time, getting back into it is quite daunting. I have to face my ego body mind all over again. This can be brutal. But I know that this is good for me, invaluable willpower training for growing selfdiscipline. In addition, I do not always succeed. Sometimes, I will give in and break a fast, using during the first two days. This makes me feel sad and ill and so the next day I redouble my efforts. I know the consequences of allowing the ego body mind to become my master… shudder. The boredom barrier is one thing, but if you start to become stressed and anxious or depressed, it is time for a solid grounding break. At this time, focus on real life activities, friends and family, and catching up on things. Get some walking in, read, get some sun, and take a vacation from anything that is causing you stress, including spiritual work. Grounding – Electrical Earthing to the Planet Electrical earthing of the human body is amazing for the health, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The human body is designed to be in contact with the planet for a considerable length of time each day. While grounded to the planet, there is a flow of electrons between the physical body and the planet that is incredibly healthy. But in our modern world, the average person spends a very short time each day in electrical contact with the planet. For many people, showering is about the only time this happens. A bath does not count as a bathtub is insulated from the planet if the water is not running. There is an excellent book called: “Earthing: the most important health discovery ever” by Ober, Sinatra, and Zucker, that will tell you everything you could wish to know about this phenomenon. See the links below and the .pdf files associated with this topic. See http://www.drsinatra.com/earthing-for-earthlings And http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te4WPdIsBtQ
And http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wPqh4DNfwg Sleeping earthed is obviously great for physical and mental and emotional health, but on a subtle level sleeping earthed is also great for the health of your energy body and Chakras. Pursuing this is a no brainer, as you will need every ounce of energy you can muster. Typically, you can purchase earthed bed sheets and earthing pads, and other products. These are typically connected to a strong electrical earth, like a power outlet ground plug, or a metal water pipe, or even a steel spike driven into the earth. Using earthing products is highly recommended for everyone, especially those undertaking high levels of energy work and spiritual development, and raising Kundalini. A side effect of sleeping earthed is that this boosts your natural Chakra and psychic shielding, which is a great help if you succeed in raising Kundalini . You can buy earthing pads and sheets and all kinds of things online. You can also rig up something homemade using an anti-static earthing strap for a few dollars from a computer store. Just connect this to an unpainted metal water pipe or other earthing source, and put on the wrist strap, and you are grounded to the planet. Genius and dormant abilities arising from Kundalini The most apt description for what Kundalini will do for you is that it will evolve your level of consciousness into the realms of genius. It will also release any dormant artistic and psychic abilities. What will happen to individuals will depend of course on how their Chakras and personalities are wired. This genius can appear instantly in some cases, but in other cases it will appear over a period of time. And in some people where there is no particular dormant abilities or interests, it will release the ‘potential’ for great things. Then, when this interest is found, the genius will be released. Energy Body Memory The human energy body has a memory. The easiest way to see this in action for yourself is to start doing some energy work, say bouncing your legs. After doing this for a few minutes, stop what you are doing and relax. You will notice that the bounce action you were using on both legs will continue all on its own. This is a basic and very useful level of energy body memory. In essence, it could also be described as a rapidly formed habit that is continued by the subconscious mind. But this level of energy body memory is only the surface of an extremely interesting phenomenon. Trauma memories, their location and importance It is scientifically unknown where a human being actually stores memories. The idea that these are stored somewhere in the brain is an unproven theory. Certain areas of the brain, if damaged, are known to affect short or long-term memory. But these areas do not actually store the memories. Fully 50% of the human brain can be removed, in an operation called a hemispherectomy, without damaging any memories. Experiments have been done on rats, removing small pieces of brain from many rats, until the entire rat brain has been removed. But all the rats maintained their memories, shown by them remembering previous training to find their way through a maze. Further to this, some people have been found through medical testing to have no brain to speak of. This is caused by a childhood condition involving high pressure in the cerebral fluid, which stunts the growth of the brain. One man was found that only had a little brain matter to cover the top of the brain stem, and the rest of his head was filled with fluid. The weight of his brain was said to be equal to the brain of an average rat. But this man was a math honors student in university, a very smart man indeed. It is reasonable to suggest here that memories are stored within the substance of the energy body and its Chakras. This is well in line with my work on the human energy body, and
the Core Image Work I discussed earlier. And further to this, it is also reasonable to suggest that if a particularly bad trauma memory were located in a particular part of the energy body, that memory could generate a strong enough negative energy to cause that area to malfunction, or to cause it to become diseased. This discussion throws new light upon not only the nature of the human energy body, but also on the nature of illness and dis-ease. This also applies directly to what we have been discussing here concerning blocked Chakras and the release of buried issues and lost traumatic memories when they are energized through raising Kundalini. 7 or 8 Chakras – and does it really matter You will hear discussion and criticism over the number and placement of the major Chakras. I have even heard heated arguments over the correct pronunciation. Some say there are 7 and some say there are 8, and some have different ideas entirely. It is probably fairer and more accurate to say that there are at least 7 major Chakras. These are, the root Chakra, the navel Chakra, the solar plexus Chakra, the heart Chakra, the throat Chakra, the brow Chakra, and the crown Chakra. But hold on… what about the genital Chakra? This is the most active Chakra in the human body and I am sure that everyone reading this has experienced its influence from time to time. This Chakra, being the most active, is why Tantric practices arose to exploit this window into the human energy body. Again, it is fairest to say that there are at least 7 Chakras in the human energy body. And it is also likely that there are some Chakras outside of the human energy body. Heart Chakra description Most people think that the heart Chakra is green and looks like a spinning wheel of light. This is true at a low level of aura sight, but if you look at the heart Chakra with clairvoyance you’ll see a whole different ball game. The above diagram is a rough representation of what the heart Chakra actually looks like when observed with clairvoyance. And it is not green. It is the color of smoke. I have not seen the letters in the surrounding ‘petals’ but everything else is fairly accurate. The heart Chakra produces a green energy that is more easily seen with lower levels of clairvoyance, and this is usually either seen as an intense green point of light, or as a spinning wheel of green light. The Nature of Chakras Chakras are nonphysical organs of the human energy body. In a practical sense, relating to the nature of this program, they have two main abilities. The first ability is to transport and transform energy into different types of energy, in much the same way as an electronic circuit board works. The second is the ability to accumulate energy. Energy flows into a Chakra and flows out of a Chakra, for normal life purposes. But if the flow of energy into a Chakra exceeds that of the outward flow, the Chakra begins to fill up in much the same was as an electronic capacitor fills with electricity. And when a Chakra is completely filled with energy, it will release that energy in a flash of subtle light. This is called a Chakra ‘strobe’ (my term).
Each Chakra is capable of strobing independently of any other Kundalini activity. This is, however, a primary indicator that Kundalini is active. For example, people may be relaxing or trying to get to sleep and suddenly and for no apparent reason, a blinding flash of light is experienced, and a feeling of mild concussion over the whole facial area. This feels like you have been hit by a pillow, but without the hitting part. Many people, when this happens, put 2 and 2 together and come up with 42. This is simply through a lack of understanding, as this type of information is not common knowledge. I have been contacted by people that have had this happen many times, sometimes by teenagers, worrying that they had been attacked by some kind of demon or evil spirit. But this is never the case. It is a simple brow Chakra strobe and nothing to be overly concerned about. On the contrary, it is a very good sign if you plan higher spiritual development. Chakra strobes and facial concussion effect When a Chakra strobes, it releases all of its energy in a millisecond. This is like how an electronic camera flash will release the energy stored in its capacitor in a blinding flash of light. If the brow Chakra strobes (The Third Eye) this is usually accompanied by a feeling of concussing over the whole facial area. This happens because there is a subtle support network for the brow Chakra in the face. This is why you will often feel a cobweb tickling sensation over your face during meditation and deep relaxation. Kundalini and Chakra strobes and Kundalini Spikes When Kundalini rises, it begins in the base (root) Chakra. The base Chakra must ‘strobe’ in order for Kundalini to rise. When it strobes, this is often accompanied by a major Kundalini spike, which is a powerful electrical sensation that moves rapidly up the spine. This can vary in intensity from a mild electrical tingling, to majorly powerful and often painful electrical surging that feels like mains voltage. The Brow Chakra Strobe There are some interesting phenomena that can occur with the brow Chakra when it strobes. Normally, during meditation and energy work, there is just a single blinding flash of light when the brow Chakra strobes. But this can at times lead to much, much more. Multiple strobe effect One of the most interesting phenomenon that can occur is a multiple brow Chakra strobe. First, you will get a full brow Chakra strobe with a blinding flash of light. Then, a short time later you will get another strobe, and then another and another and another. The strobes get closer together and soon you will experience a blurring of extremely rapid Chakra strobing. The Vision screen The vision screen (my term) is born out of the rapid brow Chakra strobing, if you do not panic and stay relaxed and persevere. This comes with an extremely colorful kaleidoscopic light show of major proportions that would make Steven Spielberg drool. It is a totally amazing experience and I hope everyone has the opportunity to see this. After the amazing light show, which can last for a dozen seconds or more, the vision screen will form. This looks like an oval mirror hanging before your eyes at arm’s length. The mirror is two to three feel (up to a meter) across. The surface of the mirror is covered in swirling light-colored cloud, and this is surrounded by a border that is more solid. Imagine an old fashioned oval mirror made of timber and glass and you get the idea. The vision screen is a
truly Nostradamus level instrument. It is in every sense what is called ‘The Great Eye’. With this you can see anything, anywhere and any when. Controlling and tuning visions Then the vision screen appears, it will only last as long as there is enough energy to hold it in existence. It is an energy-dependent construct. This means that to hold it for long enough to be useful, you will have to stay relaxed and focused and to keep the energy flowing. A little body awareness brushing of the feet, and pulling energy up the legs, will help this process continue The first thing you will see is, as I said, swirling pale clouds on the vision screen. But if you think of something and focus on it, this will appear on the vision screen. If you focus on say a friend, you will see your friend in real time going about their life. If you focus on a place, this is what you will see. The vision screen responds to your thought and intention. It also responds to mental commands. So you can say something like “Show me the Eifel Tower” and this is what you will see. You can also move the view into the past and into the future. Astral Projection into the vision screen If you are familiar with the concept of astral projection (also called OBE, or Out of Body Experience) you can easily shift into the vision screen and fly around and see a lot more detail of your target. What I do is to feel myself moving towards it with my body awareness, and feel the vision screen image moving towards me. Usually, when you do this successfully, you’ll just shift into the vision screen and appear above the target. If it is a small target, say a person, you might be twenty feet (6 meters) above it. If it is a large target, say a big crowd of people or a building, you’ll be a hundred feet (30 meters) above it. You can then watch or fly down and look around. When you want to return to your body, which is still conscious, you can command this “Take me back to my body” or ‘feel’ yourself back in your body. During a vision screen event, this is effortless. I do, however, warn you to keep such trips fairly short, under thirty seconds in the beginning. Extend this time out of body a bit at a time in subsequent experiences. Ripple wave effect Another effect relating to the brown Chakra worth mention here is ‘the ripple wave effect’ (my term). This can happen at any time, but is more likely if you are doing Kundalini related work. I do not fully understand it, or what it does, but it is interesting. This phenomenon occurs independently of any other effects. What happens is, you will be relaxing or trying to get to sleep, and you will see circular ripple waves moving towards you. Imagine that they start as a dot about half an arm’s length from you (in your mind’s eye with your eyes closed) and this dot becomes a circle that spreads out, moving towards you, and then passing out of range of your sight like they move past your head. They move fairly slowly and each ring takes a second or two to go from a dot to enlarging and passing by. This looks a bit like how ripples form in a pond of still water if you toss a stone into it. The colors are dim and this is not a spectacular phenomenon like the vision screen, but it is most interesting. As said, I really do not know what this means or what it does, but I do know that it is related to a pulsing in the brow Chakra . There is one other amazing brow Chakra strobe effect, called The Purple Strobe. I deal with this further on in this manual.
The Work space Some discussion is warranted here on the work space you will use for your meditation and energy work. Ideally you will need a quiet room with a lock on the door so you will not be disturbed. Dim lighting is desirable, so thick curtains will help with this. You can use a quiet basement or a spare room, whatever is available for your regular sessions. You will also want to be able to work in other places, to take advantage of free time during the day. For raising Kundalini attempts, however, you will need ‘total’ privacy and an absolute guarantee that you will not be disturbed unless the building is burning down. We’ll talk more about this later, but if you cannot find this level of privacy in your home, it is best to do it elsewhere, even if you have to go to a cheap motel, somewhere that is quiet and private. Using special dark glasses and magazine eyes Finding the time necessary, in a busy world, to do enough practice to make solid progress, is sometimes not easy. One hour per day is minimal, two hours is good. More is better. Life is full of distractions and demands. I found a workaround for this many years ago when I was doing the same work that you are about to undertake. It is embarrassing to meditate in public where you can be seen. It is not very private and people will often poke fun or even shake you to see if you are okay. I cut the eyes out of a magazine model and inserted these into a pair of wraparound sunglasses. I poked a small hole in the iris of each eye so I could actually see out of them if I needed to. This worked very well indeed. From that time on, I would meditate in waiting rooms, at work, at home, anywhere I liked. If for example I had an hour so two to wait at a doctor’s office or similar, I’d slip on my special glasses and hold a magazine on my lap. To a casual view I was reading, even though I was deep in an altered state. The secret to getting away with this is to never tell anyone. It is also a good idea to have a look at how the magazine eyes look when they are inserted into the sunglasses. Make sure the eyes are looking slightly down and not looking directly ahead. I have, literally, had people shout at me for staring at them. This is very funny when it happens, but it can also really upset people and they’ll think you are very strange indeed. Making time for practice Most people will need to be inventive in order to find enough time for the meditation and energy work and other exercises needed to make good progress. We are surrounded by people we love and we don’t like disappointing them. So it pays to always have a plan A, B, and C. Plan A might be to meditate for an hour before dinner. At this time you might usually watch TV, but throw the TV out and meditate instead. I have had people complain to me that they find it impossible to do serious spiritual development work because there are simply not enough hours in a day. But these same people admit to spending over 40 hours per week watching TV. TV rots the brain! I do not have TV and have not had it for over twenty years. I have better things to do with my time. I do have a screen and sometimes watch DVDs and documentaries, but I never watch TV. The mind control programming that comes over the airwaves is quite intense and something everyone can do without. (Robert gets off his soapbox.) I have a friend in the states that commutes for six hours a day. The only way he could make this work was to car pool with friends. So he only has to drive his car for a week once a month. When he is not driving, he uses dark glasses and meditates both ways. When it is his turn, he lets someone else drive. A lot of people like driving. And I know other people that commute on trains that do the same thing using special dark glasses.
Soccer practice is a great time for meditation. I would always volunteer for this duty. The beauty of this is that you are not needed during the practice. So you can sit in the car park and don your special dark glasses and get an hour’s meditation in. I told my children I was having a nap and that when they finished they just had to come to the car, which I always parked close so they could see me. I also used to meditation while sitting with my children when they were young and watching cartoons with them. I’d put on my special dark glasses, telling the children I have sensitive eyes, which I do. I would slit my eyes and do open eyed meditation for hours, with occasional disturbances. I used these disturbances as added difficulty value, something to be overcome. I learned to meditate in a deep altered state among distractions and noise. This is a priceless skill as it not only makes sure you stay focused and conscious during meditation, but it also, in time, makes your altered state extremely robust. Your life will be different from mine, but if you are inventive you will find workarounds and open slots all over the place that you can utilise for meditation and energy work. And remember to be flexible. Shift to plan B or C if life happens and disturbs your allotted time, as it often will. One last example. When I was in my thirties and my wife was home, she used to get annoyed if I meditated. If I was sitting quietly, she could not stop thinking about all the things I should be doing, like mowing the lawn. My workaround for this was to create a small space in my garden shed for meditation. An old chair, a bit of cloth, and I had a lovely spot to meditate, and a happy wife. Body Image Work: I discovered something very interesting several years ago that I have been toying with for some time. I have not written much on this as yet, so it’s great to be able to share this here. I call this ‘body image work’. This involves a level of clairvoyance that anyone can use successfully with very little effort. This is based on how the body has built-in spatial sensors that tell it where each part of its body is situated. This spatial reflection of the physical body’s image generates a basic level of clairvoyance in the mind’s eye. The body image phenomenon is something I have been exploring since about 2008. My forte’ is my power of unbiased observation. In this way I have discovered many things over the years that have been overlooked by others. My amazing recipes aside, these are mostly things that are important to spiritual work, including the wonderful Body Awareness energy work system that most of my work, and this program, are based upon . The body image is the mind’s eye semi-visual image and map of the physical body’s spatial location sensory awareness. Anyone can see this image in the mind’s eye if they try, but no one seems to have noticed it before now. This body image solidifies and becomes stronger and clearer with regular body awareness energy work, as this ability develops through use. This progresses to astral sight, aura sight, and then to clairvoyance and other psychic abilities. To see your body image, sit and relax in soft indirect light with eyes closed. Make sure no direct light source hits your eyelids, or sit in the dark. When you are ready, with eyes closed and gazing ahead, raise your right arm straight out from your shoulder to the side. Spread your fingers wide and rotate your wrist. Open and close our hand a few times while doing this. Become aware of where your hand is with your body awareness. Pay attention to this area, to the space where you feel your hand to be. As you move your hand, you will notice that you can see something moving there in your mind’s eye. It does not matter if you move your eyeballs to look at your hand, but it is easier to just gaze straight ahead. The position of your hand to the side will not cause any shadow movement that could affect your eyes optical vision, like what happens if you move your hands in front of your face and cause a shadow movement that is seen by the eyes.
Turn your head to the left, so that even with your eyes open you would not be able to see this action or cause any shadow movement that might affect your physical eyes, and repeat the above. You will find you can still see the movement and shape of your hand and arm. In the beginning, this will appear as just a shadowy movement. Keep moving your hand and explore this image for a while. Repeat the above with your other arm, and then observe both arms simultaneously, as you gaze ahead with eyes closed. Repeat this on one foot and leg, then with the other, and then with both simultaneously. Move your arms and legs to different positions, rotate them back and forth, and continue observing. Then observe your head and torso, scanning and observing with body awareness. Your internal body image map will grow stronger and clearer the more you observe this phenomenon, especially when you start performing the energy work exercises in this book. With a bit of regular practice, your internal body image will begin to glow silver and get brighter. You will begin to notice the texture of your skin, hair and nails. You will have flashes where your body image will look like it does with your eyes open. With practice, you can also move your mind’s eye view inside your physical body and explore its flesh, bones, and organs. It is also possible to look inside other people in this way, which is invaluable for healing work. Distance does not seem to matter once you get to this level, as it is just as easy to dip into someone that is close as it is to do this half the planet away. Beyond just being fascinating and super cool, the ability to observe your mind’s eye body image map has some important benefits. This provides invaluable personal experience of an easily-observable spiritual energy phenomenon, which strongly affects your beliefs concerning what you can and cannot accept and do. This also brings you closer to the body intelligence aspect of your higher self. These things empower energy work and self-healing, as well as generally speeding up spiritual and psychic development. Clear and repeatable personal experience with any kind of spiritual or energy related phenomena are truly life changing. Personal experience in these areas is very difficult to gain. The resulting changes in your belief system, in building your faith, will greatly empower your progress. The Catch Basket Concept I was instructed to dismantle my belief system, and then to intelligently rebuild it from scratch. I was told to be disciplined in my approach and to use personal experience, logic and commonsense to build a new foundation belief system, upon which to continue my quest for true enlightenment. The concepts in this article directly apply to Kundalini. This is because, if you have any contradictions in your core belief system, this will cause problems when you step into the greater reality by awakening and raising Kundalini. A New Approach to Life and Greater Spiritual Reality In the mid nineteen-eighties, I experienced a serious belief system challenge. Glaring contradictions arose at every turn, between my ongoing hard-life experiences and popularly accepted New Age concepts of spiritual reality. I struggled to comprehend and integrate my experience with this paradigm, being forced time and time again to accept illogical compromises. But adaptation of my life experience soon became impossible and I began suffocating under its awkward burden. The popular model rapidly became unworkable in a practical sense. Either I was going crazy and experiencing consistent, repeatable delusions, as were all the people I was helping, or something was decidedly rotten in downtown Denmark. Like many people down through the ages, I had spent my life searching for spiritual truth and meaning to life. For many years, I had sat in development groups, prayed, meditated, visualized and read until my eyes burned and my mind reeled under the massive contradictory
onslaught. I developed psychic abilities, had spectacular OBE's, visions and mystical experiences. I made good progress, but still I needed more. . . I was eventually reborn and transformed when I raised my Kundalini to its highest level around 1987 (this was when the enigma of my life became apparent to me). But raising Kundalini, in itself, does not bring instant enlightenment. Kundalini has to be raised regularly and mastered, just like any other ability. The first time Kundalini is raised it causes 'abstract' enlightenment, not actual enlightenment. You know everything while Kundalini is raised, but cannot realize this when you return to a normal level of consciousness (the base level of consciousness in the normal waking state). There are no shortcuts, and there is no way of avoiding all the hard work and hard-life experience necessary for the abstracts to filter down into your conscious mind and physical reality. All of this gleaned me glimpses of the greater spiritual reality above, with a few tantalizingly abstract snippets of abstract higher truth thrown in for good measure. But my increasingly strong contact with the greater spiritual reality provided me with a flood of contradictions to the popularly accepted model. This intellectual burden grew and grew as my belief system was stretched way beyond its design limits. It rapidly approached critical mass. I was offered a solution around 1990. I had a major experience where an angel, master, or my higher-self (hard to tell which, and somewhat of a moot point) manifested to me as a powerful objective voice. I could have recorded this had I a tape recorder handy; it was that audible. I was wide-awake and standing up. I had just stepped out of the shower and was about to start my evening meditation, around 9 pm. It was the most beautiful voice I have ever heard: deep, rich, masculine, eloquent, loving, and wise. The atmosphere was intensely peaceful and powerful. (This may have been the same objective voice that had spoken to me a couple of years earlier, when it then instructed me to begin teaching myself how to write. Since I barely finished grade eight, this was no mean feat in itself. I had worked hard, and by the time of the second visitation, had already mastered the basics of English and grammar. Even so, I still felt I had not done enough. But direct contact with spiritual beings from the greater reality always has this effect, especially when they come to you.) The voice asked me to sit down, and then proceed to explain a great many things to me, the most important of which was advice on how to proceed on my quest for higher spiritual truth and knowledge. I was instructed to dismantle my belief system, and then to intelligently rebuild it from scratch. I was told to be disciplined in my approach and to use personal experience, logic and commonsense to build a new foundation belief system, upon which to continue my quest for true enlightenment. The foundation belief system lies deep within the subconscious mind. This comprises a set of conceptual mental filters and shields, which are fundamental to one's physical and spiritual existence. These shape and affect your thoughts and perceptions by filtering ideas and inspirations, making these conform to a central theme, as set by your foundation beliefs. All knowledge lies within your heart. But accessing this is extraordinarily difficult. Everything has to pass through your conceptual filters before it can be perceived or realized. If one's fundamental beliefs are even slightly flawed, information trying to pass through becomes distorted or blocked. Imagine new truths as being delicate spheres, and flawed conceptual filters (contradictory beliefs) as being coarse triangular. New truths are effectively blocked. If one forces them through, the results are damaged goods, i.e., fractured, distorted or incomplete truths result. Therefore, if a higher intelligence tries to pass contradictory new truths through a flawed belief system, these truths are conceptually blocked or distorted. The greater the fundamental
errors in one's belief system, the greater will be the distortion. All things being equal, this is why some people can receive inspiration (be it artistic, musical, scientific or spiritual) and others cannot or receive only poorly. The core concept here is very scientific. This is called ‘open-minded scepticism’ which is a part of scientific method. The concept that you create your own spiritual reality is nothing new. Versions of this idea can be found in a great many books of spiritual philosophy. But actually realizing how this works and applying it to one's own foundation belief system in pursuit of higher truth and knowledge and experience is an entirely different matter. I was given detailed instructions on how to accomplish this. The next day I sat down and made a list of all the things I believed in concerning my spiritual reality. I then analysed and erased all the things I had not actually experienced or proven for myself. After many hours of pondering and revising, I ended up with a very small list indeed. It went something like this: 1. OBE is real: I've had Astral projections all my life. 2. Clairvoyance is real: I've seen auras and visions all my life. 3. Healing is real: I've both given and received it, seen and felt its power. 4. Kundalini is real: I raised mine to its highest level in 1987, and many times since. 5. We survive death: I've seen people after their deaths and have visited the spirit worlds. 6. A higher force is concerned with human existence and its spiritual evolution: I've experienced this many times -- the voice I heard above is just one example. 7. Angels, masters, deities and good spirits are real: I've interacted with these many times. 8. Bad spirits are real: I've experienced poltergeists and psychic attacks, been possessed and self-exorcised, and helped many people and children with similar problems. Gone were personal spirit guides (while I had learned to believe I had one, I had never actually met or openly communicated with it). Gone was the involvement of spirits in just about everything spiritual and psychic (I had no hard experience to support this, only vague assumptions). And gone was the entire organized spirit structure above us that I had been taught to believe in (I had no real proof this was accurate, but I did have experience to the contrary). I took the advice I had been given to heart. I would learn to live this new way of truth and to apply it to my life. My final list was real and true, as I had personally experienced everything on it. As instructed, I would build on what was real and discard everything else. I was told to shelve items of 'possible' truth aside, until proven or disproven. However, this is easier said than done and I went into what I can only describe as spiritual shock. But if I was to do this at all, as instructed, I had to go all the way. In time I worked out a slightly better system for myself. In my heart I had my core beliefs. In my left hand (held wide to the side) I had my ‘probable’ list, of things that were probably true but I needed personal experience and or logical evidence based on experience before I could move them into my core beliefs section. I also added a ‘possibilities’ list which I held out wide in my right hand. These were things that I considered possible, being an open-minded sceptic. I awaited new experience or evidence to shift these into my probable list, and so on. This layout (which is an analogy, of course) stuck and I still use this system today. In time, this new foundation belief system settled more comfortably within me. I got over my emptiness and began filling my aching void with practical truth and knowledge. From this point onwards, slowly and surely, everything started to come together in my life, and make
sense. As instructed, I began writing a journal of my thoughts and ideas. I used the writing process to nurture my inner genius, to free up the flow of inspiration between my physical-self and my higher-self. This flow, the muse, I had been told, was blocked not only by my previously flawed conceptual filters, but also by the vast differences in consciousness: between the level of consciousness of my normal awake mind (my base level of consciousness) and the more rarefied and abstract level where my higher-self resides within me. This gap is bridged somewhat during altered state meditation. I turned my unanswered questions into journal articles. These contained everything I experientially knew to be true about each subject. I found myself putting in many logical subtitles and question marks to represent gaps in my knowledge. I used the writing process (revision, sleep, revision, sleep, and so on) to coax the truth from my dreams, and from the deep recesses of my higher spiritual-self. As instructed, I began shutting myself away in a dark, silent room for several hours at a time, discovering a profound new level of deep trance thinking. I thought, dreamed, meditated and wrote on seemingly unfathomable arcane matters. In time I began receiving inspirational ideas. My dreams and visions swam with sparkling clues; tiny pieces of the jigsaws I was trying to build. My logical and inspirational processes began working overtime, far more powerful than ever before. I found myself waking many times during sleep, compelled to reach for pen and paper to record new ideas. Mundane conversations and events triggered intellectual storms through the mental associations they caused, necessitating much frantic note-taking as inspirational ideas surfaced like glistening dolphins leaping from the murky waters of my subconscious mind. This belief system method fitted well into my personal experience. I had become quite shamanistic at this point and knew the power of signs and omens and synchronicities and coincidences. And this had been part of my problem. I was walking with one foot in the physical world and one foot in the greater reality. And these are not compatible no matter how far you try to stretch and bend them into shape. I accepted this process and began working with it. I felt like I had been reborn. This is how I developed my Catch Basket concept. During the day, I set my catch baskets by pondering unanswered questions. These are baited with rich crumbs of personal experience, tantalizing ideas and juicy pieces of logic. In the morning, I check these for fruits that have been cast into them from above. I record everything and add each small harvest to my questioning articles. Pretty soon, these began fleshing themselves out and filling in the mysterious gaps. And it is through doing this that I learned a Great Truth. Staying In The Question. Instead of trying to answer a question or problem with my own store of facts and knowledge, I learned to STAY IN THE QUESTION. This is powerful as it opens the way for the truth to slip down into your mind and give you the true answer. In truth, my work teaches me just as much as it teaches those I share it with. Over the years since I began this process, my catch basket repository began groaning with ripe esoteric fruits. As instructed, I began pouring these into the articles, tutorials and books I eventually began writing. Over the years since my arcane riddle began, my inspirational process grew into a finely-tuned subtle mechanism. Now, if I have a serious question the answer always comes to me. Sometimes it surfaces immediately, sometimes days, months or even years later, but the clues that lead me to the answers always come. This has given me drive and purpose, plus an ever-increasing fascination for this many-splendored thing we call mortal life. Whatever the future holds in store, I look forward to living it with great interest. When I started teaching live workshops and interacting with people more, I discovered a new level of learning. I discovered that while lecturing and answering questions, I would slip into a muse state where grace would flow through me. By this, I mean that ideas and answers and
words would come through me that I had never thought of before, triggered by the situation or topic or questions. So by teaching I am learning. Even while writing and editing this for the new Raising Kundalini program, I find new ideas slipping into my mind. This is a priceless gift and I hope you get to experience it yourself one day soon. I hope the above explanation of where I am coming from is of some help to people who might be struggling with their own beliefs. It is neither my intention nor my joy to cast doubts upon anyone's heartfelt theories and beliefs. But if my work causes you belief system discomfort, then how solid were your beliefs to begin with? While faith is powerful and truly a priceless jewel, if one accepts anything blindly , one risks polluting one's essential core belief system with the curse of mindless dogmatism, inaccuracies and falsities . Please keep an open mind to the possibilities I have introduced here. The popular New Age spiritual paradigm contains a great deal of beautiful, comforting philosophy and truth. But it can fall down quite badly in a practical sense, especially when applied to dark force and supernatural problems. If one clings to this model, the development of new concepts and the gathering of higher spiritual truths become virtually impossible. The parameters of current popular spiritual models simply do not allow for this. Because of this, many people today bend the rules and invent elaborate explanations to get around these problems, while dogmatically holding true to popular beliefs. But this increased complexity prohibits a more direct approach. It leads to belief system obfuscation and ineffective methods being developed and propagated. A Little Sage Advice To Close On Question everything, especially the sacred cows of dogma. Always think for yourself. Experiment and learn from all that life has to offer you. Listen to and consider the wisdom of others, and try on their ideas as you might try on their coat for size. And above all, build your own core belief system from the steps of your own personal life experience, as you walk the path of the masters . For personal experience plus logic and reason is the path of the masters.
