Relate Some of the early history of Auditing Discuss some of the Audit expectations of the general public  Audit expectation gap: a gap that results from the fact that users of audit services have expectations regarding the duties of auditors that exceed the current practice in professions.  Is the company a going-concern?; Is it free from fraud?; Is there integrity? This will enable the auditor to obtain and evaluate audit evidence about some characteristics of the items selected in order to form or assist in forming a conclusion concerning the population from which the sample is drawn. Audit sampling can use either a statistical or a non statistical approach.
