The operating principle is based on using the free vortex for the gas separation.
Vortex Gas Separator doesn’t have a separating rotor, what differs it from centrifugal gas separator.

Gas separator GSVB5-250 estimated run-life could reach up to 3500 days with solids content up to 200mg/l (in accordance with test results performed at Gubkin Oil and Gas Russian State University at 2910-4500 rpm).
GSVB5-250 Supply Dynamics and Field Trials
Est.
Totally 120 vortex gas separators were supplied to different oil companies. 5 units of GSVB5-250 gas separators are under field trials at Rosneft oil company. As of March, 2013 the MTBF totaled 312 days. Current MTBF is 436 days.
No failure caused by Borets equipment occurred during field trials
GSVB5-250 Failure Analysis Results
MTBF totaled 436 days at 402 mg/l solids content; Failure analysis results : – free shaft rotation; – no working parts, liner, base and head wear; – bearing sleeves minor wear.
Borets GSVB5-250 vortex gas separators trial results were recognized as success ful.
GSVB5-250 Vortex Gas Separator Benefits
Increased reliability due to the absence of separating rotor and correctly selected gas separator design type and materials reduce the flow hydraulic resistance and as a result – wear decrease.
Vortex gas separator wear-resistance is three times more than rotary gas separator.
